The little folder I keep these
pictures in is titled "All Into One" because I think we get the Gable Grin
without the ears, the Powell Eyes without the frenetic movements, the
Valentino intensity in someone that SPEAKS! in most pleasing tones. I think
it was Jeanne who mentioned Tyrone Powers.
IMHO Guy took all the best traits of various stars, the things we liked most
about them, and rolled them "all into one" package and then made them his
own. No one else was like him before, and there has never been anyone since
who could come close to this one particular man. I just thought it might be
fun to take a look at some of the things that may sometimes remind us of
others that had come before and, perhaps, influenced him.
