(Diego arrives at the mission to find Monastario and his men there. Monastario implies that maybe Diego should not get involved.)

(Monastario tells Diego to warn Don Nacho that he will use whips on the Indians unless Don Nacho gives himself up.)

(In a quiet moment inside the mission church, Diego is found playing the organ while Don Nacho prays. Diego is attempting to stall Capitan Monastario long enough for his plan to fall into place, while distracting the soldiers enough to allow the indians to escape.)
