Mari-San's Yamato Ishida Shrine V.02 Blur

Across the Bay

This page is about Yama's family. I'll try to put all the knowledge I know about them in this quaint little page. Don't worry, it'll only take you couple of minutes to read. I don't know much but you'll never know. I always have something up my sleeve. Well, not really. *sweatdrop*

"Why are they leaving me?"

"I've never let anyone get close to me before... Not since my family split up.
Ever since then, I've been left alone. I figured if my family didn't want me, then
I'd just keep to myself and not tell anyone what I was feeling."
-- Matt, "Crest of Friendship"

Living  Apart (01)

As you know, Matt and his dad lives in Odaiba, and TK and his mom live on the other side of town, across the bay. How the heck did that happen, you might ask yourself. Well, these are my views on how. The real story isn't really known, but it might be close.

The Ishida Family consists of the parents, and their two young sons...

It sounds normal right? Wrong. The family is torn apart. Yamato and his dad living in Odaiba, and Takeru and his mom living in Kawada, the town across the bay.

The Ishida/Takaishi family has one of the most depth and history out of all the other families in the show. Let's start from the beginning, shall we?

The Ishida Family were living in an apartment in Highton View Terrace. After a 'terrorist bombing,' the family moved. Matt was 7 and T.K. was 4 at the time. (Got my source from the episode 'Return to Highton View Terrace.' Matt said 'Four years ago' was the bombing, and Matt is eleven. Eleven minus four is seven.) At first glance, the family looked like a normal, happy family. Nah-uh. Problems occurred between the parents and they couldn't stand living with each other any longer. So what was their solution? Divorce.

Well, from the looks of it, they were first living in Highton. Then when the bombing took place, they went to Kawada (The city where TK and his mom lived). Things weren't going so well, so the parents got a divorce. Matt and his dad moved away to Odaiba, since in the ep. "Battle for the Earth," it showed flashbacks. Mr. Ishida was carrying a bag and walking away with Matt, while Ms. Takaishi was just wearing an apron holding T.K's hand. So Matt and his dad moved away to an apartment building in Odaiba.

Well, that's the history. Pretty deep, doncha think?

Season  Two

So, has anything gotten any better since Yama and TK came back from the Digi World? Have the two parents made up and gotten back together? Are they one big happy family now?? *pause* No. ^_^;;

BUT... Mrs. Takaishi and Takeru have moved closer in Odaiba. One step forward!

The Family

Mr. Ishida and Mrs. Takaishi looking on as their sons battle.

Okey-dokie, I'm here to talk about Yama's family. I'll try to gather up as much info as I could, so... mmmkay. Let's begin, shall we? I'll begin with TK, then the dad and mom, and so forth.

The  Little Brother

Lol. ^_^

Name: Takeru "T.K." Takaishi
Age: 8 in 01 and 11 in 02
Grade: 2nd grade in 01 and 5th in 02
School: Kawada Elementary in 01 and Odaiba Elementary in 02
Hair color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
01 Attire: A weird hat, green long sleeve, and brown shorts. With shoes too.
02 Attire: Another weird hat (lampshade style!), a yellow and green shirt, and green shorts.
Crest: Hope
Possessions: A green backpack (01)
Digimon:
Poyomon/Tokomon/Patamon/Angemon/MagnaAngemon

Personality/Info: Well everyone knows who TK is. ^_^ He's Matt's sweet, innocent little brother. It's like TK never does anything wrong... except making Matt leave the group for several episodes. *mumbles* Well anyhoo... For some weird reason, TK's personality totally changed when they came back to the Digital World to fight off the Dark masters. Weird...

Some would say that TK is a crybaby. ^^;; Well, he does tend to cry a bit, but he's got his reasons to. Plus, he's only 8. He's allowed to cry sometimes. TK is also of the youngest of the DigiDestined in Season 1, with Kari. He's also real sweet, willing to do almost anything for the group. Everyone is real fond of TK. ^_^ Also, he's pretty smart for his age. Remember the time he tricked Puppetmon? *pause* Mmm... Puppetmon... actually, anybody could trick him. Well, at least TK didn't cry about it, eh? ^^;;

TK really admires his big, cool brother. A lot of people do. ^_~ He feels that Matt can do anything. He thinks that beating Matt at a video game would be a big accomplishment. Awww, how suhweet. ^_^

02: Woah! TK shot up like a weed! ^_^ He's now almost as tall as his big bro. and apparently popular with the girls. Just like his brother. ^~ He's in the same class as Davis and Kari, which is 5th Grade, Class A. (7-A in the dub. =P) Anyhoo, TK and his mom, Nancy, have moved in an apartment complex in Odaiba.

Lemme just say this. TK's voice is way deep. I was shocked by this. Everyone was. ^^; But now everybody's used to it. Yay!

TK and Davis were once like the 'Matt and Tai' of 02 until Ken came along. Who's TK like? Prolly Matt, but some say Tai. When Ken did come along (Hurrah!), he was stuck with Cody. (Dun get me wrong, I like Cody and all.) Cody and TK became somewhat the 'Joe' and Izzy' and became fighting partners in DNA digivolution. ^_^ Word has it that TK has a cra-ush on Kari! (Everyone: Ooooh!!) You could so tell in 'Guardian of Light' or whatever that eppy's called. Takari is definitely all the way. But I feel sorry for Davis. =( (Yes, I like Davis. A LOT of people hate him. ^^;)

The Dad

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! *has a heart attack*

Name: Mr. Ishida
Age: Around late 30s.
Occupation: An exec or reporter at the Shimbashi OR Fujiyama TV Station
Current Hometown: Odaiba, Japan
Lives With: Matt
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Voice Actors: Unknown
Attire: A white-ish long-sleeved shirt, a blue tie, and brown pants.
He wears an overcoat in 02.
1st Appearance: "Flower Power"

Personality/Info: Well, at first that Mr. Ishida might seem a bit hostile. His appearance might make you think that and his sorta deep voice. He wakes up Matt but pushing him with his foot. ^^;; Mr. Ishida really is a nice guy though. He wants Matt to be safe and sound. He told Matt to stay at the warehouse with Gabumon to stay out of trouble. Some people might think that he's a bit mean. Well, he isn't really. When people saw the part on the eppy "Wizardmon's Gift, they were thinking "Oh gosh, Matt's dad is such a meanie! All Matt wanted to do was help, and he blows up in his face about it!" ^^;; Well, maybe not in those exact thoughts. Anyhoo, can't you see why he was a tad bit mad? He wanted his son to be safe and to keep a low profile, but as you can see, that didn't happen.

Now, people might think that Mr. Ishida likes TK better. Mr. Ishida was being mad at Matt, blah blah blah, but then TK comes around and poof! He's Mr. Nice Guy. ^^ I thought that was perfectly normal. He was happy to see his son! Who wouldn't? Remember, TK doesn't live in Odaiba. TK prolly doesn't see his dad much and vice versa. You can see why Mr. Ishida had a 'heart change.' ^_^

Okay, enough about the Bad Guy/Good Guy thing. ^^ Let's get down to more facts. Ahem. It seems that Mr. Ishida is a workaholic, don't you think? In the beginning of "Flower Power," it seemed as if he was checking out of work, but then all of a sudden, Charlie come running by! You know Charlie, right? He was... that guy. ^^;; Anyhoo, Charlie was all "Ahh, there's a problem!" and Mr. Ishida was all "Okay, I'll help!" Well, maybe not in those exact words, but something like that...

Speaking of the beginning of "Flower Power." it seemed that Mr. Ishida does have a sensitive side. It was so sweet when he was looking at a family picture in his wallet. I was squealing so much at Yama. Well anyhoo, that proves that he's a bit sensitive. And that also proves that he has a leather wallet.

02 Update!!! Okay, let's see... *reads her notes* Still a work-a-holic. ^^; I think he works at the Fujiyama TV Station. The one where Myotismon held as his secret lair. I'm confused now. Pfft. Oh well.

And he's a NICE GUY. Not mean, as was your first impression of him. ^_^ He was nice enough to take Matt, Tai, and Izzy to a camping trip. (The Rugged Camping Men. Lol. ^_^) Oh, and he knows all about the whole DigiDestined thing, so don't go "Ahh, busted!" And he was nice enough to drive Tai, Izzy, TK, Davis, Kari, Yolei, and Cody home. And he also gave Matt money for him and Jun to go home on bus. How... nice.

The  Mom

Here is Nancy, lookin' very serious.

Name: Natsuko "Nancy" Takaishi
Age: Around 30s
Occupation: journalist for the newspaper
Current Hometown: Kawada in 01 and Odaiba in 02
Lives With: TK
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Voice Actresses: The same one as Petrafina from Flint! Hear the resemblance?? (02)
Attire: A black tank and beige pants w/ a purple sweater wrapped around her waist. (01)
She now wears a Matt-like shirt (^_^;) covered by a purpley overcoat. This is during the winter of 02.
1st Appearance: "Flower Power"

Personality/Info: Well, there's not too much said about the mom. Here we go. Okay, let's see... mmmm.. Well, it seams that Ms. Takaishi is just the typical mom. She obviously loves her sons very much. It also seems that she still cares for Mr. Ishida as well. I guess the reason why they got a divorce was that things didn't work out so well. Well, I guess that's kinda obvious. ^^;; Anyhoo, you can see that fact in "Flower Power." She and TK were watching the news. TK was saying that they had to go to Odaiba to help Matt and dad. Ms. Takaishi didn't agree at first, but she was imagining Mr. Ishida's face on the TV. He turned around and smiled, and Ms. Takaishi gasped and finally said okay. *sniffle* Ya know what? It'd be so cool if some person made a site about Mr. Ishida and Ms. Takaishi. It could be called "Together Again" or something. Even though they will never hook up again, it's fun to think. ^_^

Oh, and one last thing. Ms. Takaishi feels that she has lost Matt and Mr. Ishida. It's true. Remember the part when TK was riding with Joe to Odaiba, and she was chasing after them? When TK was gone, she said "I've lost all of them now..." *sniffle* So so sad. Well, just though you wanted to know. ^_^

Yesh! More info about her from 02! ^_^ All I know is that she might be a journalist or something like that. She did an article about the historical significance on toilet paper. Her sons must be so proud.

She's also very helpful during the tough times in 02. She was able to provide much information. Whee.

The Grandma
on the Mom's Side

"You're selling ties??"

Name: Grandma Takaishi (Use your logic and figure it out)
Age: 60s, maybe
Current Hometown: Rural area of Odaiba, I suppose
Hair Color: Grey
Eye Color: Not sure. She's a Brock. =P
Voice Actresses: Unknown
Attire: Blue head wrap, white sweater, striped shirt, brown pants
1st Appearance: "Bokura no Wargame (Our Wargame)" movie

Personality/Info: You know those grandmas who would be suspected to own a bunch of cats?? Well, this grandma is one of them. Only without the cats. She's a nice, old lady, as most would say. She's hard of hearing, after watching that moment with her and Tai on the phone. ^^;

She lives in the country, far away from her daughter, Natsuko. How is she a Takaishi? Well, let me show you. TK's Grandpa in France looks remarkably like Mr. Ishida, so it's safe to say that he IS an Ishida. Grandpa Ishida's wife lives with him in France, so the Grandma I'm talking about right now HAS to be a Takaishi. It's all in the logic. ^_~

Grandma Takaishi loves her grandsons, and they obviously love her since TK was willing to give her a backrub. *pause* She might be one of those bossy-but-nice kinds of grandmas. ^^; Also, she trusts her grandsons a lot, since she allowed them to roam across a place unattended in search of a computer. That or she doesn't really care, which would make her a bad grandma. But then again, she's one of those eccentric 'cat ladies.'

Gah, now I'm just confusing you and myself. O_o

The Grandpa
on the Dad's side

[Insert picture here. It'll come soon, I promise.]
Name: Grandpa Ishida
Age: 50s-60s
Current Hometown: Paris, France
Hair Color: Blonde (He uses coloring!)
Eye Color: Blue
Voice Actors: Unknown
Attire: Brown jacket, scarf, brown/beige pants, goggles (for his motorcycle)
1st Appearance: "Digimon World Tour Pt. II"

Personality/Info: If I had to use one word to describe him, it would be 'lively.' He certainly does not act his age. ^_^;

He first appears on "Digimon World Tour Pt. II" to help Tai and TK with the whole 'save the world' thing. And he makes his entrance on his motorcycle. *sweatdrop* Now how many grandpas do you know ride a motorcycle? *pause* Yeah, I didn't think so.

Also, there is a Grandma Ishida, she just couldn't make it. She was at home doing her job as a housewife; the plumbing and fixing the roof, and other chores a grandma should always do. Yeah. ^_^

By the way, I do have a hypothesis why this Grandpa is on the Ishida side. First of all, Mr. Ishida (Matt's dad) looks a lot like this grandpa. So I think it's okay and reasonable to say that they're father and son. Yeah. That's my logic. Use it. (Lol) I'm sticking to my thoughts, so let's just call him Grandpa Ishida, even tho the 'others' don't call him that, okay? Okay!

Mr. Ishida does not act very Japanese, if he even is Japanese. (Nationality does not matter in anime! Yeeah! ^_~) He acts French! *grins* He even has the cool accent and customs. He's very serious about his home, (Which is France cuz he lives there). He got very upset to see the gates of Versailles Palace open and quickly rushed in, ready to fight the enemy and defend his country.

Grandpa Ishida is one of those 'hearty, teasing' kinds of grandpappies, in my opinion. ^^; Like when he asked that TK had to sing 'Frere Jacques' (Spelling is horrendous, I know.) every time they see each other. Hee! ^_^

Weeell, that's... all. ^^;; But don't fret! I know that more will be added. Ta-ta now!
