Problem with giving awards?
Sailorsaturn

By Michiru

Yes, I know we all love getting awards but most of the awards you go for you have to apply for yourself and the person goes to your page looks around and gives you the award if you meet the standards. I know it's fun to get awards but what about the other things people tell you you have to do such as Sign there guestbook, make them a banner, link them on your page, ETC. What if you had to do those I think it is unfair. Awards are supposed to be based on a page and signing ones guestbook or making them a banner is wrong in my opinion because it is not about the persons page it's about signing guest books and other things. Awards these days are getting to be a hassle because the people want more than to just be nice and give someone an award. Back in the days people just gave awards for a good web page and the person getting the award had to do nothing for the one giving it except apply for it.

Here are some GOOD tips to think about when giving an award (ex. Cute Site Award)

1. has to be cute

2. can't have anything not cute in it

3. make it a cute color

4. have the page be about cute people only

5. send in you application

These are just an example you don't have to go by it at all but my point is it doesn't say sign my guestbook or give me a graphic, or link me. Some other good things are to just give awards to sites that disserve them not even let someone apply just give a site the award you think disserves it and then there won't be a problem at all.

That's all I have to say for now Bai!
