Before I became interested in anime, I have to admit that I was grossed out by homosexuality. When I first learned about Haruka and Michiru, I was still a bit shaky, since I had only seen DiC's dub up to that point. But the more I thought about it, the less big of a deal being homosexual seemed. So what if people fall in love with people of the same gender? It doesn't affect the type of person he/she is and it doesn't make them any less of a person.
Now, I'm fully supportive of gay/lesbian relationships. I believe that love shouldn't have any limits. As long as the couple is happy together, why should anything else matter? I don't understand why so many people disapprove of homosexuality. Everyone's different so why should any one "different" feature be looked down upon? Homosexuals are normal people, just like the rest of us. Infact, I have a friend who's lesbian and she's as good a friend as any, maybe better than some. I don't understand why some people can't just see past sexual orientation and judge people by their personality.
As for religons that are against homosexuality, I wouldn't know much about that subject matter, considering that I don't follow any religion. But if homosexuality was so wrong, why would any godly figure create people like that? A person doesn't choose who he/she falls in love with.
I suppose part of the reason so many people aren't font of gay/lesbian people is that they don't see it much. Most people grew up with a couple being a male and a female. I think if everyone just stopped to think, they wouldn't be so homophobic.
