Ritsuko Akagi
Ritsuko Akagi is one of the project scientists and Misato's friend. She is often a familiar sight hanging about doing her work, whatever that is, and being quite helpful. She knows bit about the Angels genetic makeup, but craves more information so she can find a way of ridding the world of them for once and all. She also knows the truth about the Second Impact, and divides her feeling about Shinji into a mix of Pity and Admiration. After Shinji's nasty accident (which one? - Marc) she thought that they would never get him to pilot it again, but he keeps getting in, even though he himself does not know why he keeps doing it. Yet sometimes he can be a source of exasperation for her, when he doesn't want to continue and when he gets tired of it all. Yet Misato is her biggest source of exasperation, ranging from the fact that in the first episode she got totally lost and Ritsuko had to find her, to her cooking, which is abysmal. Ritsuko can't seem to help liking the scatty woman, thoughas after all they were friends in college.
