Gundam Wing is basically a very definite shounen series (made for guys), but attracts a lot of girls because of the awesome main characters. Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barten, Quatre Winner, and Chang Wufei are all young boys who have been trained to pilot huge mechs called Gundams to fight an inter-stellar war. Their orders were first to protect earth, and then to protect the colonies which spawned from earth. But then the colonies turned their backs on the Gundams and left them to struggle their way through war-torn space.

In my own opinion this is a very good series - if you can watch and keep up with every episode in the anime. You miss one show, and you're lost. The characters are interesting, the action is awesome, and the dialogue is reasonably cool ("The God of Death is Back From Hell!!" BWAHAHAHA! *cough, cough* ahem, pardon... ^^;;) Lots of angst at times, especially in the fanfics that are floating randomly throughout the Net, but even so, it's worth it!
