Storm

Time flew by fast and alot of the time I was in fact alone. Chi-chi had called Gohan home the day after Yamcha and Alethea’s visit. So over the time despite having a tv and my lessons in Japanese I didn’t watch any tv there because I couldn’t understand the lingo- despite my lessons lets just say as easy as everyone makes the language out to be I could only understand the “odd” words and it made it difficult to understand a conversation. So no tv just English speaking movies and alot of reading. My now favorite past time. My favorite book was about the witchcraft trails and the torture the inquisitions put them through. Alot of stuff these days that they didn’t understand would be classed as witchcraft. So I spent my time reading my book on tortures and listening to juvenile’s “Back that thang up”. And on the fifth day of staying in my mother’s house. to my surprise I got a visit from Vegeta. he didn’t even knock he just entered like he owned the place and he looked around. Trunks had left for his own timeline earlier on that day with Iris. He was coming back with her after defeating the androids- but she wanted to see his world before going back to her father I had told Trunks if she died I would kill him despite Vegeta as an obstacle. My premonition of Iris dying by the hands of Seventeen were still in the back of my mind. He may not of existed in this reality anymore but Trunks one he did...
Vegeta found me in the kitchen listening to music making myself dinner while reading the torture book. I was getting this female multi task thing done pretty neatly. I didn’t actually hear Vegeta enter but more like sensed his power level and I turned round from the fry pan. I had a packet of Irish moss on the bench snacking on that between the cooking thing. (For those who don’t know what Irish moss is it’s those licorice pieces covered in colorful sprinkles).
Vegeta was smirking at me. “So you finally learned how to cook girl.”
I knew he was taunting me. “Well yeah it’s nothing like Chi-chi or my mother’s cooking and well I’m only cooking for one so only I have to live with it no one else.”
“Hmph.” Vegeta grunted. I guess his insult he had hoped for a better ‘saiyan reaction’ instead it had been more of a happy go lucky Goku feeling reply.
“Wanna test my poison and stay for dinner? I seemed to of cooked more than I can eat here.” I asked.
Vegeta’s eyes widened and he looked at me with my kind offer. “I didn’t come here to have dinner with you girl! Kakarott’s mate has taken the kid off somewhere and I have no one to train with.” He replied.
I looked at Vegeta in a mock insult. “Oh so you want to train with me? But not have dinner with me huh?” I asked teasingly.
Vegeta scowled at that reply.
I obviously frustrated him. Probably my human half annoyed him at that too.
“Fine girl!” He snapped.
“Good cause I’m hungry food first.” I replied.
Vegeta let out a frustrated growl. I’ll bet he was glad he didn’t spend a year with me in the hyperbolic time chamber.

So after dinner we trained together until it was too dark to see. I was only just above Vegeta’s power level. But he was catching up to the second level of super saiyan I think that’s what he wanted.
When we walked back inside Aradia ran up to me and climbed up my trouser leg and up my side till she reached my right shoulder and hung there. She reminded me of Dr. Brief’s black kitty-except Aradia was a British Tabby (a white cat with black tiger stripes). Maniac though he was just an ordinary tabby a brown cat with black stripes with tinges of grey as well as white. But Maniac was no where in sight so Aradia was being social instead. Must be the female cat thing. They seem more social than the male cats. I think it was the same with the saiyan race except it was like a reverse. The guys were more social- except Vegeta. Though he was being pretty social today... in his own -beat-the-girl-to-a-pulp- way.

I offered Vegeta a bed to stay the night since it was too dark to fly back to Capsule corp without ramming in to tall trees and things like that. He took me up on the offer any bet to wake me at an early hour to train some more in the first sign of light. Vegeta wandered the house while I vacuumed and cleaned the house up. Vegeta found an old photo album of my mother’s he was overly curious in it for some reason and that was when I saw him looking at eh pictures of my father. ‘So there was another reason to this visit, how typical.’ I thought.

I went to bed at a reasonable hour for once. ten-thirty pm. But like I had felt Vegeta woke me at early hours for that darn training. How he woke me up though well lets just say he just stood there eerily at the foot of my bed slowly powering up until I sensed him. Weird-o. He was also looking at me okay more like glaring at me and expecting because I had premonitions that I could read his mind too.
So I sat up and returned his glare.
“Do you have any concept of the time?” I asked him tiredly.
He just smirked back in reply. Me wearing my red dragon boxers and white low back tank top showing off all my tattoos. Vegeta then held up an amulet my father had made for my sixteenth. Vegeta had been through my mother’s jewellery box containing all my jewellery (because I don’t have my own box and she has several). But there was a strange symbol in the center of the amulet’s jewel.
“Yes Vegeta my dad makes jewellery for a living.” I drooled with sarcasm.
“Foolish girl you have no idea of this symbol do you?” He asked and threw the amulet on the bed. I picked it up and looked at the symbol. it looked familiar but not to familiar for my tired mind to grab a concept of.
“No.” I replied bluntly.
“It’s the symbol of the saiyan elite. Your father is obviously part of them. I want you to take me to this world of yours. I want to see him and the other saiyans of your world.” Vegeta demanded.
“Look it’s frickin’ TWO-THIRTY IN THE GODDAMNED MORNING!!!!”
“So?”
I thumped my forehead. “No I don’t know how anyways. That’s Chhaya and my mother you’ll have to get them to take you- when they get back.”
Vegeta suddenly smirked at me again. I felt really uncomfortable. There is not telling how this guy’s mind works one moment predictable the next he’s not.
“Then we will train girl.” He said.
“Vegeta what part of TWO-THIRTY don’t you understand?!” I exclaimed.
“If you want your mother’s house to stay intact girl I suggest you get up get dressed and train with me now- before I blast it clear of this earth.” He remarked.
I sighed defeated- who can argue with that- the person you house sit for is -not- wanting to come back to a house that no longer exists and there go any future possible payable house sitting jobs.

Well we arrived on a single lone island- the typical unpopulated kind. Training began. Vegeta determining to beat me to a pulp in to the ground and he was; because I was still waking up. Even after he’d woken me up with several good blows he kept coming his stamina was that of further past ascended. he was so determined. Much like Goku had been while training in the hyperbolic time chamber- except Vegeta didn’t know when to stop he could of beaten me up until lunchtime.
But I called it quits at six forty-five am. I was too tired to train at my full potential and I was sleepy as - even though the sun was rising.
Damn him.’ I thought. ‘Damn him to Hel and Hades.’ I added tiredly while flying back home.

Vegeta headed back to Capsule Corp. ‘Thank the Goddess!’ Don’t get me wrong I was just exhausted and any break from training with him was a good break. Plus there was a point in there where I was sure I felt my self control over my own body slipping. now I love and care for Yamcha. But if Trunks hadn’t of said what he said to me when he came back it could of altered his existence in this world. Even though my mind was set firmly int he ‘No affair’ thing my body- my saiyan body wasn’t. I guess I figured it out then. It took me all this time to realise. That this body of mine was the closest thing to a full female saiyan body left in this reality. The last chance for an almost full blooded saiyan child. Sure I was only half like Trunks and Gohan but I wasn’t a child. So when Vegeta left with the promise of coming back later to train more with me - despite my protests (at the training). I was actually glad for the solitude. That was till I arrived back at my mother’s house and walked inside realising that I once again was alone with no one to talk to except the cats but they were too busy being cats jumping round outside and chasing birds. So I went to bed to catch up on the sleep I missed out on.

I was woken up round lunchtime by the phone and I answered much to my sleepy mind not wanting to. “hello?” I asked in a tired voice followed by a yawn.
I heard a familiar chuckle on the other end.
“Hey there.”
“Yamcha. What are you doing calling me at this-” I rolled over and looked at the clock “errr lunchtime hour?” I finished.
He laughed “I’m just calling up on you to see if you’re keeping sane in all that solitude and iceolation.” He teased.
“My sanity is fine thank-you it’s my body that aches.”
“Bulma told me Vegeta was headed your way for some serious training.”
I groaned. “And he’s coming back too... say can I come over so when he gets here I won’t be here?” I asked.
Yamcha laughed. “Yeah sure.”
“Cool Ill be right over after I’ve had um... breakfast...”
“Okay see you then.”
We hung up and I knew that Yamcha saw me still as a typical ‘younger generation’ with my long sleeping hours. Not laziness in fact it’s a statistic that teenagers sleep longer and that they need that sleep.

So after “breakfast” I arrived at Yamcha’s apartment and he greeted me with a kiss on the cheek. Such an angel he was. It made me scold myself mentally for my body even contemplating the ‘thought affair’ with Vegeta. But me and Yamcha weren’t bonded, mated or married even so if the affair were to pop up it wouldn’t really have the same effect as if we were married, bonded, mated or whatever the term in this world is used. I know it was bad just thinking it. But C’mon what sane girl who watches dragonball z would pass up an opportunity with the great Saiyan prince. So to keep my mind occupied I gave Alethea some attention even though she was paying more attention to the block Dr. Briefs had created as toys for Trunks and her. She spelt out a word and pushed the button and then a picture would pop up of the word and she’d laugh with pure childlike entertainment.
“S.T.A.R...” the computerised voice spoke- and a star popped up with eyes that blinked and face that smiled.

I saw Yamcha looking at me as I sat with Alethea and I realised then from the look on his face something was bothering him.
“Yamcha?” I questioned.
“You know I was thinking Lee in the two odd years we’ve been together we haven’t once had a fight or an argument of any sort.” He remarked. “I think it’s strange considering me and Bulma fought almost all the time.”
“I try to avoid arguing. I grew up with my parents arguing all the time. It really messed with my head. I thought it was okay to argue then. I got in alot of trouble for saying words I shouldn’t of heard at the ripe age of five.”
“So you’re avoiding arguing because of Alethea?” He asked.
I looked at Yamcha and shook my head. “Oh no I just don’t like arguing. It’s my part scorp nature you see if anyone ticks me off I hold it inside and silently plot their downfall in society.” I replied.
Yamcha blinked and he looked at me.
I guess it was the casual way I said it. so Alethea wouldn’t pick up on it.
“Umm... okay.” I saw him sweatdrop.
“Plus you don’t want me to argue with you cause I usually get really really really bad and cranky and totally unbearable. Then I say things that aren’t very nice.”

There was a long silence and Yamcha looked at me it was a few minutes before he spoke again. “Lee I know it’s not my place to say. But this training with Vegeta-that’s all it is right? You know nothing more? Not that I don’t mind the training you being saiyans and all- but that’s kind of the same reason I don’t trust him with you.”
The thinking affair. Yamcha obvious had picked up of the feeling of it. I guess he did have some sort of psychic ability. I blinked and looked at Alethea then to Yamcha.
“Can you honestly tell me that he won’t pull something on you. You know to take me away from you. He seems to love doing that do me.” Yamcha added.
“Are you hinting that I have a lack of self control when cute guys are present?” I asked arching an eyebrow looking at Yamcha.
He shook his head quickly and stuck his hands up in the surrendering way.
“No! not you. It’s just I don’t get it. What do woman see in him? He’s arrogant, bossy, unpredictable and not very um- kind. You heard Trunks remark to Goku that Bulma and Vegeta it was just a passion kind of thing. What if that happened while the two of you were training?” Yamcha remarked.
I shrugged and went back to paying Alethea attention. I didn’t want to have a fight over Vegeta. But then what type of woman would I be if I didn’t retort back. Just let myself get walked over and not said a word of what made me unhappy- This was so ‘Joy Luck Club’ cliche. Maybe one day I’d find that strength to voice what made me unhappy- maybe today sometime. I always did have a problem with opening up and when I did I had a sever case of put-foot-in-mouth-itis.
“Lee?” Yamcha questioned. “You’re not answering me.” He added breaking the silence that I had started. I stood up and looked at him.
“E.G.G” The computerised toy spoke and I looked down as a picture of an egg popped up and it hatch with a little chick popping out of it flapping it’s yellow wings and cheeping in that way baby chicks do.

“I don’t want to answer you because I don’t want to fight.” I replied.
“You mean it could happen couldn’t it?” Yamcha asked me.
“Possibly but after Vegeta reaches that second level that’s it for me. I want nothing to do with any form of fighting ever again. Physical or otherwise. I want to quit and live a normal life. And I don’t have to see Vegeta he can train with Gohan. I don’t want the next bad thing to come along and kill me, I’d rather use my magick not my fists.”
Yamcha blinked and he walked up to me and he hugged me. “Is this what’s wrong? You didn’t like dying? Lee everyone in earth’s special forces have died except Gohan. It’s normal here don’t worry about it.”
“Being alone has given me time to think on it. I think this is what I want.”
“Lee you a saiyan- they don’t just stop fighting.”
“I’m human. I was born on earth to a human mother I’m human. I’ve been alone in this house reading and reading alot and I’ve had time to do some serious thinking. I grew up thinking I was human. Then I come here and my entire world is tipped upside down. I’m not who I think I am. I’m expected to be something that I have idea on how to be and I’m thinking to much. and thinking over alot of things.”
“Like having an affair?”
I looked at him. “Will you quit that. Geez and I though Chhaya was irritating with her mind reading.”
Yamcha looked at me. “I’m not reading your mind I’m searching your feelings.”

I gave Yamcha a side long glance. “Again with this searching the feelings thing. okay well Yes fine. That thing with Goku and me that got him and me so attached to each other. Now I’m seriously worried now that Goku’s gone that Vegeta doesn’t see that claim there. You see why I’d rather be human. I know human I am human. Human is easy to understand.” I replied.
“You don’t like your saiyan half getting this much attention do you?” Yamcha asked.
“Okay I’ll rephrase that I don’t like being half saiyan and female in a world where I am the last living female saiyan except for Alethea- but she doesn’t count cause she’s a baby.” I replied. I guess we needed this talk Yamcha and myself. I guess I was opening up. I was right today was the day to voice what made me unhappy.
“What about your father? Are you resenting being saiyan because in someway you haven’t fixed things with your father?” Yamcha asked.
I blinked. It made some sense actually resenting being saiyan because it was a direct link to my father who had lied to us and ignored me for most of my life because I wasn’t a typical first born son, like in his family line. But more instead took on the first born daughter role of my mother’s side. The human side.
“Okay your right. I hate my dad and he’s saiyan so there.”

Yamcha looked at me and brushed a strand out of my face. “Feel better now?”
I nodded. “Yeah but I still don’t want to fight. I bruise easily, check this out.” I showed Yamcha the bruise on my upper arm. “This is the mark of two seconds in to training with Vegeta.” I added.
Yamcha looked at the bruise. “I think you like to fight but like saiyans you don’t like to get beaten up.” He teased.
I gave Yamcha a playful push. He always somehow managed to make me feel better.
“Gaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaaaa!” Alethea announced.
I turned round and gave Alethea my attention again and she loved it. Maybe in the future she might end up with Trunks or possibly Goten, or the boy next door. The options limitless and not bothering me. Just watching her grow up would probably be just what I need.

I felt Yamcha’s hand touch my shoulder and I looked at him. “So are you going to avoid Vegeta to save further bruising?” He asked teasing me.
“Would you?” I asked.
“I’d probably train myself further before even thinking about taking Vegeta on. but you don’t need to.” He replied.
I looked at Yamcha. “Well with the heart of a true coward I will try to avoid Vegeta until my mother gets back then. She can take him to meet my father which he’s so keen on. I guess with Goku gone and all Vegeta is looking for other full blooded saiyans or something.” I remarked.
“Well how about I get your mind off this for now and you stay for dinner. I’m ordering Chinese.” He smiled.
“Have you ever wondered why they call it Chinese take aways when you don’t actually take Chinese people away?” I asked.
Yamcha blinked and he looked at me. “Lee???”
“It’s like the word Hamburger. Why is it called a ham-burger when the meat is clearly made off beef. Why not call it beef-burgers?” I asked.
Yamcha looked at Alethea and he sighed a sweatdrop appearing on the side of his head. “I hope your not this odd when you get older.” He remarked to Alethea.
Alethea blinked then went back to playing with her blocks.
“B.A.L.L” The computer remarked and the image of a ball appeared and bounced up and down. Alethea’s eyes followed the movement.

It was while I was flying home after having a very nice dinner with Yamcha at round about ten-forty pm. That I noticed oddly enough the moon... and it was in it’s full stage. The color was odd too it had an orange tinge to it and I stopped and landed on the beach my black open high heel shoes dug in to the soft sand and I looked around myself. I felt a pull to this beach area. Considering I’d never been here before. I walked towards the ocean and the minute my heels hit the wet sand they sunk slowly in to it as I walked towards the ocean everything was so dark but the feeling it was like I was waiting for someone. I felt the ocean lap up over my feet and I looked down glad I wore my three quarter denim shorts, I stepped out of the water backing up. but my eyes were set firmly on the moon my saiyan tail snaked up round my exposed waist and I felt a hand touch my bare arm, the light blue denim shirt I wore had the sleeves rolled up and the front was tied up to reveal my navel (in typical anime fashion).
“It’s not a real moon.” The familiar voice spoke from behind me.

It broke the lure of the moon and I looked over my shoulder and saw Vegeta standing there, he wasn’t in saiyan uniform. So much for trying to avoid him. more like run and hide so I can avoid him.
“So you made this moon?” I asked with a hint of accusation thinking it was his way to lure me out to train.
“For once I didn’t. I thought you did when I saw you here.” He replied.
I looked back to the moon. “Nope wasn’t me. But then who?”
Vegeta let my arm go and I looked at him, he wore that yellow collared shirt and dark blue jeans. I guess he’d finally ditched the ‘pink’ shirt.
“Who cares.” Vegeta replied.
“I do.” I replied. “Because if it wasn’t you and it wasn’t me and as far as I know we’re the only saiyans that know that move. Which means that out there somewhere is another saiyan.” I added.
Vegeta looked to the moon then he looked to me realising.
But neither Goku of Gohan knew how to make the false moon.

The sound of hands clapping came from behind us. Vegeta and myself turned round to the sound and standing there in the animated flesh my father. His tanned skin was even more obvious. I guess I was the only pasty looking saiyan. My father’s dark black hair was tinged white and grey through it to show age, his dark saiyan eyes focussed on Vegeta.
“I’m the other saiyan.” My father said.
Vegeta and my father stared at each other for a long time. My father was obviously the senior here. He showed more age than most animated characters except perhaps Master Roshi. My eyes darted from one to the other and back again.
“-You-I-know-you-” Vegeta spoke slowly as if thinking on it. “I’m sure of it.”
My father just smirked. He had a totally evil gleam in his eye. “Think hard prince.”
I suddenly felt like not wanting to be there. This was not the family reunion I wanted. Vegeta growled it was more frustration at remembering further back than Frieza.
I felt scared suddenly ‘What if my father was some sort of enemy to King Vegeta or a follower of Frieza?’ I thought worriedly.
“Oh Vegeta how could you forget the man who piloted your father and mother through space?” My father asked in mock hurt.
Inwardly I let out a relived sigh- he wasn’t an enemy, he was just another saiyan.
“YOU!” Vegeta exclaimed.
I blinked there was sudden anger in Vegeta’s voice.
“ME!!” My father echoed in mockery. “A bit slow tonight aren’t we Vegeta?”
Vegeta just growled.

I looked from one to the other confused- so Vegeta -did- know my father, geez so much for a small world- more like small plains of reality.
“Dad?” I questioned the confusion in my voice.
He smiled at me in the way he normally did- over confidante.
“So this is where you vanished to?” He asked looking round. “I never thought you were that smart to find your way back to the reality of my origin.”
I nodded slowly numbed by his very presence. My father has always been a big guy tall tall fellow probably a bit taller than Tien and nearly as tall as Piccolo at least in this world. In my world he had to duck doorframes to get in the room but not by much three inches perhaps.
“Well I’m here.” I finally said.
“I guess your saiyan half was stronger than I thought.” My father replied. There we go again with the put downs. He always did that to make himself feel better.
“About that- why didn’t you tell me I was half saiyan?!” I exclaimed.
My father shrugged. “No point really, on earth in your mother’s world aliens are much like witches. Secretive. At least in New Zealand. Besides I left, your mother should of told you.”
“Yes I know she should of- at least she admitted it. But you! You just vanished on me and Neil! Why’d you do that?” I asked.
“You showed no saiyan abilities accept the athleticness. Then you stopped showing it. Your mother messed with your mind. Made you study, wanted to keep you out of trouble.” My father explained.
“Well excuse me for not being the perfect saiyan child considering I didn’t KNOW!!!” I exclaimed angrily. I had all this anger bottled up inside and man I was letting it go Bulma and Chi-chi style.

My father smiled at me. “Well at least in this world you’re acting like a typical saiyan female. I should of brought you here myself. Seeing as your saiyan half is more prominent.” He remarked.
I gave my father a side long glance. “Oh and I suppose you would of chosen to set me up with one of your little elite buddies. Tell me that time I went out with Zack was he a saiyan?” I asked and crossed my arms glaring at my father.
“Yes he chose Zack for his human name. His real name is Zukoe.”
Vegeta smirked amused. “You’d set your daughter up with your co-pilot.”
“Hey there aren’t too many of us left to be picky Vegeta. you take what you can get or you risk inter-race-breeding like what happened with me. There was no way I wanted my grandchild to be quarter saiyan.” He remarked.
I looked at Vegeta and he just laughed. “Oh you’re too late for that.”
My father looked at me. “What?!”
“Well considering the options I have here it’s no wonder to just chill out.”
“You seemed mighty comfortable with Kakarott girl. How do we know nothing happened in the time chamber?” Vegeta asked.
I had never really thought on being pregnant to Goku.
I looked at Vegeta stunned. He nodded. “I thought it would.”
“Kakarott? So there are still survivors here?”
“Well um he’s dead now.” I said.

Vegeta and my father went in to a conversation of their own.
“Kakarott is he a full saiyan?” My father asked
“The son of Bardock.” Vegeta replied
“That weakling lived. Amazing.” My father remarked.
“Yes Raditz came to see if he’d completed his mission it turned out he got hit on the head and he grew up thinking he was a human.” Vegeta explained.
“And he’s dead now? Geez how weak.” My father retorted.
“Dad! Goku is not weak! He’s a great warrior.” I exclaimed annoyed.
“You obviously like him to defend him with such passion. So you slept with this saiyan then?”
“I’m not listening to this!” I growled throwing my hands up in the air.
Vegeta just smirked. “So how many others were on your ship?” He asked.
“There were seven of us in total. Including your mother Vegeta and my mate. But they both died. Five of us landed on earth in Johanna’s reality. She was only eighteen at the time. I was taken in by a family and later became known as Darren Bradley. Each of my ship mates went about their lives earning money to buy parts to rebuild the ship so we could leave only to find that plain of reality was not as advanced as this one. So we were stranded for a long time until I meet Johanna and her family. The men were all mechanics and the women musicians. They helped repair the ship in return I was accepted in to their family and Johanna came back to Christchurch with me, she stayed with my adoptive family and attended college there we were married after she completed her degree in economics and teaching.” My father explained.

Vegeta listen as my father explained. “So she knew about you and the other saiyans?” “Well yes we’d all take turns two of us at a time would take the ship out in to the galaxy to get the proper parts to head back to this reality and planet Vegeta. But by the time we got there it was gone. So we all came back to earth made it our home for the time being. Some of us married only one of us actually managed to breed within the saiyan race being only one female left on the ship. They had two kids the first a girl then the second a boy. But by the time they were born Leona here had been borne they were to young for her for me to even consider to set up with. So it was Zukoe instead.” My father explained and he looked at me angry. “He took her to Akaroa for the weekend but she ran off on him. Not wanting to be a part of him.”
“Dad he was scary! He was twenty years older than me!! I can manage fifteen years but not twenty especially when I was sixteen!!!” I exclaimed.
“And this Kakarott how much older than you was he?” my father asked.
“Five years.” I replied.
My father blinked. “Five years... sounds about right. For the son of Bardock.”
“Yeah.” I replied and crossed my arms. “So?” I retorted.
“You still have such a smart mouth girl.”
“Well I’m sorry for not being the child you wanted but I am who I am.”
“Yes right. At least you’ve acknowledged your flaws.” My father replied.

I was shocked my father just blowing me off like he had. In Trunks world. Trunks had said my father had come to the world to make up with me. I guess it’s not going to happen in this world. Well ya can’t win ‘em all.
“Why are you here dad?” I asked.
“The boy. You brought him here.”
“Iris did not me. I don’t have that kind of power.” I replied.
“Whatever. Is he here?”
“Your son’s not here. That slacker went back to the other world with his mother.” Vegeta spoke up.
My father looked at Vegeta and nodded. “Well then I guess I’ll go back and look for him. He shouldn’t be too hard to find.” My father looked at me. “If you are pregnant to that saiyan let me know. But if you two- even the better. Apart from that don’t try and contact me. It’s not worth it.” He then tipped and imaginary hat and he flew off.

I slumped down in to the sand and I ran my fingers through them. Vegeta was staring up at where my father had been. “Are all saiyan father’s like that?” I asked.
“My father was.” Vegeta replied.
I looked up at him he looked back at me. “He obviously thinks there’s something going on between us. Which is the last thing I need no offence I’d just rather not get on Bulma’s bad side.” I replied and looked up at the manufactured moon of my father’s. It seemed to curse me with it’s full and round perfection.
“He’s just like every other saiyan.” Vegeta said not looking at me but more at the moon. “You can hate him for it. But you can’t change him.”
I stood up and looked at Vegeta. “Was that a form of comforting Vegeta?”
He looked at me and then back to the moon. I smiled and nodded. “I won’t tell.” Vegeta let out a growl.
“Well I’m going back to my mother’s place. You should go back to your family.”
“Whatever girl.”
“Bye Vegeta.” With that I powered up and flew off.

I landed on my mother’s doorstep and I let out a sigh. All I wanted while growing up was to be accepted by my father. But all he had wanted was to mould my brother in to his image and set me up with one of his old friends.
I placed the key in to the lock and I unlocked the door. As I reached for the handle a hand came up from behind me and touched mine.
I looked over my shoulder and blinked looking at Vegeta. He’d followed me back to my mother’s home- not a good sign.
Vegeta just looked back at me.
“So you’d rather be with a flawed saiyan than your own family?” I asked.
Vegeta smirked at me. His hand turned the handle and the door opened.
“Back on Vegeta having a father like yours was a sign of a true saiyan.”
“But I’m flawed remember, I’m only half saiyan.” I replied.
“You have every right to be classed as a saiyan. After all our race is one that is nearly extinct. You are the only one who can give birth to a saiyan child. There is a great honour in that.” Vegeta remarked.
It was odd Vegeta showing me comfort in that.
I nodded slowly. “In primary school I was smarter, faster and stronger than the other kids. Now I guess I owe that to my father right?” I asked.
Vegeta nodded. “Kakarott and his kid aren’t like you and I.”
I blinked and scratched my head. “How aren’t they like us?”
“We are the elite girl.”
I felt the shudder run up my spine at that. My father had always prided himself on his class when I was growing up and now Vegeta emphasised it more. I looked in to the house as my cat bolted past the door and in to the kitchen.
“So that means boy is too?” I asked.
Vegeta nodded. “Yes.”
“Damn and I was hoping he was adopted.”

Vegeta arched an eyebrow at me. “What?” He questioned.
“Don’t worry it’s this joke me and boy have going between us, because of how different we look. We joked that the other was adopted.” I explained.
I looked to my mother’s cat sitting in the grass of the front lawn. Maniac sat there blinking looking at the two of us. Now that they could talk I knew it wouldn’t be good to have Vegeta round much. But from the looks of it. Vegeta only wanted another elite saiyan to train with someone he felt was worthy of his royal time like a friend. Yamcha’s paranoia made me smile. There was no way Vegeta would cheat on Bulma after all he had seen the futuristic result of Trunks and knew he was going to be a strong saiyan child.
“Well girl I will be back here tomorrow to train with you. In time you will learn to come to terms with your heritage.” Vegeta spoke and he turned round and he powered up and flew off leaving me standing at the door alone.

I returned back to Yamcha’s place the next day after my mother arrived back home. I had spent the morning training with Vegeta and at the same time he had taught me what I had missed out on in the saiyan culture.
Yamcha looked up as I walked in and I shut the door tiredly.
“Hey.” He smiled.
“Hi.” I walked over and flopped down on to the couch next to him and rested my head on his shoulder.
“I take it Vegeta found you huh?” Yamcha asked.
“Yeah don’t worry it’s nothing to worry about. Just training, because I’m daughter of an elite. In all honesty I wish he’d drag Gohan out instead of me.” I replied.
Yamcha put his arm round me and I curled in to him.
“So it’s just training?” Yamcha asked.
“Yeah, you know I’m glad now that my mother made me take those martial art classes at least I can defend myself.” I replied.
“So are you still going to quit?” Yamcha looked down at me.
I shook my head. “That’s like asking if Jack the ripper will stop gutting whores.”
Yamcha blinked. “Who?” He asked. I gave Yamcha a kiss on the cheek.
“Don’t worry just another other world reference.” I replied.
I saw Yamcha sweatdrop and I smiled.
I wandered outside to the balcony of the apartment I watched the sunset and looking across the vast horizon I saw two golden streaks zip across the sky. I smiled sensing Iris’ return along with Trunks.
“Trunks is back.” I shouted out to Yamcha.
He came wandering out holding Alethea and he looked across the sky seeing the two flying away and off in to the cliche sunset.
“Well we’ll head over to Capsule Corp. tomorrow then. Anybet your friend will be going home shortly.” Yamcha remarked.
I nodded. “Yeah.” I leant up against the wall watching the sun and I saw Yamcha look at me curiously.
“Everything okay Lee?” He asked.
“I wish I could of sorted things out with my dad. I obviously did in Trunks timeline if my father came to help me.” I replied.
I saw Yamcha give me one of those sympathy glances. “Maybe he’ll come back and you can sort it out then.” He suggested.
I looked at Yamcha and nodded. “Bardock changed towards his end, why can’t my father?” I whispered to myself more to anyone else.
“Bardock? You mean Goku’s father?” Yamcha asked.
“Yeah. He had visions like I do. Makes me feel better knowing that. And I saw in them my father coming back before he dies. He suffering at the moment that’s why he’s so cold towards me. That and he’s a typical saiyan.”
Yamcha nodded slowly and he bounced Alethea in his arms. “It’ll work out Lee. It just takes time I’m sure your father will come around eventually.”
Watching the sunset I could do no more than think and hope that Yamcha was right about my father coming around to his senses.
“He’ll want to see his grand daughter won’t he?” I asked myself, “Or is he ashamed of the weakening saiyan blood.”
Yamcha walked up to me and I looked at Alethea, she smiled at me brightly.
“I’m sure he will Lee maybe not right away but he’ll come around.”
“I hope so Yamcha.”

Wandering in to Capsule Corp. the next day I saw Trunks and Iris standing in the lounge talking quietly among themselves. Iris looked at me and I waved slightly. she smiled at me bravely she seemed obviously still coping with what she had seen of Trunks timeline. Trunks looked at me and Iris walked up to me.
“Hey girl. How’s things?” She asked.
I nodded slowly. “Good I guess.” “Trunks and I came up with an idea on how to get the dragonballs back in his world. He said he spoke with you in the other world not long after you arrived on earth, he’s going to talk to his mother here to see if his idea is possible.” Iris explained.
I nodded. “I think it’s a good idea but jumping realities is tricky via science.”
Trunks blinked and he looked at me. “How’d you know about that?”
“Cell showed me. You forget he showed me everything my other self went through in your world. I know about it.” I replied.
The corner of Trunks lips turned in an upward tilt like a Vegeta smirk. “So you think I should go through with it?” He asked.
“Yeah because you’ve got some trouble coming your way. I can’t say what exactly but yeah, it’s big.” I replied.
The door opened and Chhaya wandered in and she smiled. “Oh good you’re both here. I want some shopping companions.”
I looked at Iris. “You up for some shopping girl?”
“Oh hel yeah!” She grinned and looked at Trunks. “I’ll let you talk to your mother about it I’m sure she can come up with some ideas.”
“Okay see you later.” Trunks smiled.
Me and Chhaya made childlike gagging noises as Trunks gave Iris a kiss.

Chhaya perfectly balanced two shopping bags on each arm and one attached to each side of her shoulder bag as we wandered through the mall I had a small handbag and Iris wore a small backpack with a Charmander attached to the zip, Me and Iris carried a bag each. Chhaya had heard from Yamcha about my father and the unhappy reunion we had the other day so she decided that some shopping therapy would be good.

While paying for some clothes at the counter I felt a pair f eyes on me and I turned round and looked and I blinked seeing Vegeta standing outside the store with my father beside him. The lady handed me my change and I thanked her and took the bag and I wandered outside and up to my father.
“Dad.” He looked at me and he placed an envelope in my hand he turned round and went to walk off. “Where are you going?” I asked.
“Home.” He replied. “Have a good life Leona.”
He powered up and flew off I looked at the envelope confused and I looked at Vegeta.
“Remember you’re an elite.” He said before flying off also.
I opened the envelope up and saw a letter in my father’s handwriting.

Leona

I’m sorry I haven’t been the father you wanted or respected. Truth have it I respect your visions if it wasn’t for Bardock you may not of existed I was the only saiyan in that room who listened to what he said about Frieza. His visions saved my life and that of my crew. Use the gift you have been given. Take care my daughter and have a good life.

Darrsan (your father)
