Melfina is the heart and soul of the team.  She is a bio-android built by Gwen Kahn specifically for the XPG15A-II, now known as the Outlaw Star.  Her purpose is to navigate to the center of the Galactic Leyline, the legendary are where all the wonders an riches of the universe can be found.  She is naive ,due to the fact that she had only recently been activated, and finds herself in constant wonder and amazement with the diversity of the universe.  Her specialty, besides navigating the Outlaw Star, is cooking.  She cooks on the journeys that Gene takes her on, making her even more of an asset.
