Yami Yugi Anzu Jounouchi Honda Bakura Miho Yugi Mutou alias Yami Yugi Yugi Mutou He's your average type of guy, shy, kind, generous, a little short, and is extremely loyal to his friends. He’s the target of bullying in his school, but Yugi’s too kind to stand up to them and report them. Sigh. Yugi loves games, maybe because of his name Yugi, which means games. He is quite good at all sort of games, but not as good as Yami Yugi( duh ), but close enough. Aren’t they the same person? Yugi has a crush on his childhood playmate, Anzu Mazaki, and blushes easily when he looks at her closely, especially when she wore a bikini in episode 14, he, he, he. Sadly, Anzu does not have any feelings towards Yugi. However, whenever she goes out with Yugi, she's often mistaken as his girlfriend - Yugi will gladly love that - but she has a crush on his alter-ego, Yami Yugi.(He’s so kakkoii!! ^^) Yugi will be very sad if he knows that. Oh dear. Yugi can be very brave at times, especially when defending his friends. He is so kind, isn’t he? Yami YugiYami Yugi's the dark and powerful alter-ego of Yugi Mutou. Now, he’s really cool!! No wonder Anzu has a crush on him, eh? Yami means darkness, BTW. Yami Yugi is a master duelist and the ultimate player in his own games, which he calls Shadow Games. These Shadow Games are played to punish those who do injustice and use cruel tactics to achieve what they want. When they lose, the Door of Darkness will be opened. Yami Yugi will then cause them to have illusions; which are named Illusions of Darkness or Shadow Illusions or vice versa. These illusions are very serious, and they can sometimes cause some people to get some, err, mental problems. See more in the anime summaries section. Yami Yugi is possibly the best player in Dual Monsters…but, there are no perfect players, so we might not be sure yet. However, I’m prepared to vote that Yami Yugi will emerge as the best duelist! Go, Yugi! When Yugi punishes these people, very often, a third eye will appear on his forehead. This is probably the Sacred Eye of Ra, whose hieroglyphics are encrypted in the Great Pyramid. You can find out more in the Egypt section, here.Yami Yugi is cool, confident, clever, strategic and brave. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know the meaning of fear. He knows, all right. Remember, no matter how good a duelist is, he or she will panic at some times. Yet again, check out the anime section. Yami Yugi also has a crush on Anzu. If Anzu is in danger, well, he will do anything to save her. Anzu Mazaki / Téa Gardner Anzu is Yugi’s childhood friend. She’s really cute, but rather, um, fierce. Get her in a temper and she can beat the heck out of you. ( She does that to Jyonouchi…) Yugi has a crush on Anzu, and so does Yami Yugi. Anzu feels the same, but however, she like Yugi’s alter ego, Yami Yugi. But the two go well, don’t you think? Yami Yugi is especially protective of Anzu; when Anzu was in danger throughout the anime series, it would always be Yami Yugi which saved her. ( He, he, more in the anime summaries section.) OK, enough. Anzu is in high school now, and I guess her age is around 16-17 years old. She’s a very confident person, and she has great trust in her friends. Her ambition is to become a dancer. She’s considering going to New York to learn how to dance. What does she dream, you ask? Ho, ho, she dreams of the person who saved her from a criminal in anime episode 2, which is Yami Yugi of course. Later on, she finds out the true identity of her rescuer, and when Yami Yugi or Yugi’s with another girl, she tends to get jealous. Hm…maybe that’s one of the reasons she doesn’t like Mai-san? Jounouchi Katsuya/ Joey Wheeler When Jounouchi first appeared, your first impression of him is that he’s probably a big bully. Am I right or am I right? Well, I thought so too, at first, to be honest. But later on, we discover that he has really good qualities in him, despite the fact that he looks like a gangster, what with his unbuttoned coat and playful behavior. He’s kind, understanding and loyal, especially to his sister Shizuka, who left him after both their parents divorced. Jounouchi lives in a broke down apartment where his father is always drunk, and doesn’t work. That’s why Jou here’s a tough street kid; he pays for his school fees by working part time. Imagine; few years working after school, struggling to stay alive and avoid his father’s beatings. Poor Jou. He’s really loyal to Yugi and Honda. Before this, he liked a nurse at Shizuka’s hospital, but it turned out that – she was engaged! Sigh. How did he meet Yugi, you ask? Well, he appeared in the first episode as a big bully, ‘coz he threw Yugi’s last puzzle piece into the drain near the school. Then he and Honda got beaten up by Ushio( see more in the anime summaries ). Jou first misunderstood Yugi’s intention, but he was touched when Yugi said that he wouldn’t beat up his friends. Jou eventually got it back for Yugi – he jumped inside the drain! – and gave it back to Yugi when he got beat up. Yugi then transformed into Yami Yugi when he completed the puzzle and beat Ushio hands down, and Ushio got transferred into hospital for mental illness. The next day, Jou provided a touching statement; “I have my own precious belongings, Yugi want to see it?” Yugi says yes, but Jou declines. “Sadly, sometimes it cannot be seen, and sometimes it can be.” Yugi asks what is it, and… “It is friendship. People can see the both of us, but they cannot see the friendship between us, Yugi.” But Jou feels embarrassed at his words, and we can see from this he doesn’t know how to show his feelings. Idiot, Jounouchi! If you knew how, you could have chased after that nurse earlier!! Darn. Honda Hiroto/Tristan Taylor In the anime or manga series, he’s known only as Honda, but his first name is Hiroto. ^^ Honda is Jou’s childhood friend, since primary and secondary school. The two are very close, and they have something in common; both are hopeless romantics. In the anime – and manga - , Honda falls head over heels in love for a classmate, Miho, a very pretty girl with long purplish gray hair. He spends most of his time to win her attraction, he, he. Honda wants to be elected as president for the First Form, but he was elected as the Cleanliness Officer, but Jou constantly calls him “old maid” since Honda likes cleanliness so much. Honda hates breaking rules, example like working part-time – yes, its NOT allowed – and he doesn’t like playing yo-yos and stuff. But if Miho likes them, then…Honda just follows. Gosh. What Honda doesn’t know is that Miho likes Ryou Bakura, or Ryu. But when he does know, he got extremely jealous and tried to pry her away from him. That didn’t succeed, though. Honda, just forget her! He has good leadership capabilities – when he’s not with Miho, that is. Honda also treasures friendship; you can see this when he tried to help Jou to get back to the right path when Jou got mixed up with some gangsters. Miho Doesn’t appear much in the manga, but very frequent in the anime. She, as described, has long grayish-purple hair. She is very pretty, and she thinks so too. But not that conceited type of pretty, she just thinks of getting more beautiful. She doesn’t realize Honda’s existence, and when Ryou Bakura appears, it’s love to her at first sight. Yet again, Ryou himself doesn’t know that Miho likes him; he just ignores her existence, which makes her rather disappointed. Her main role here is that she’s a member of Yugi’s group, as a, um, temporary character or something like that. Not much is known about her, but she really likes pretty dresses…^^ Ryou/Ryu Bakura Ah, here’s someone important! Ryou here possesses yet another Millennium Artifact, the Millennium Ring. He appears quite late in the anime, and when he appears in front of Miho, she instantly fell in love with him. Like Yugi, Bakura-kun also possesses an alter-ego, Yami Bakura. The difference here is that: Yami Yugi looks kakkoii whereas Yugi does not; and Ryou-kun looks kakkoii whereas Yami Bakura does not. Weird, huh? Normal Bakura is really cute!! Big black eyes…its no wonder Miho fell in love with him at first sight. Check out more pics in the sketches section. The main difference here is that when Bakura transforms, he can’t control the dark power of the ring. Unlike Yami Yugi, Yami Bakura is…urgh, cruel and selfish. But when Yami Yugi beat him in a duel – the duel which involved all of them ( except Yami Yugi) being turned into Dual Monsters puppets, Anzu, Yugi, Jounouchi, Honda, Bakura – Bakura may have developed respect for Yami Yugi, and believes in his ability to win. Our usual Bakura looks innocent and handsome, and, oh, did you notice? Same thing here, Bakura’s front hair will stand up or something like that when he transforms. I still prefer the normal Bakura. Yay! ^^ But Bakura still isn’t as kakkoii as Yami Yugi!!! |
