"Jim Henson and Brian Froud are two of my greatest inspirations. This
site is an attempt to honor what I feel was their greatest achievement,
and also one of the greatest and most under-appreciated achievements in
the field of puppetry and creature FX for film, yet." It's official!
Monica J. Roxburgh's Dark Crystal page is back! It
had to come down from Keyboard Cafe because the cafe closed (:(), but now
I think Monica has finally found enough free server space to host
it for good! :)
"It's pretty nice to know that there are still people out there that
care enough about a movie 16 years old done by a man who has since died
(Jim Henson, rest in peace knowing your works are still loved).
Sometimes I think that we must be a strange bunch to like some puppets
and animatronics so much we make entire webpages dedicated to it. But
hey, these characters are as real to you and I as that person on the
other side of the world is. I hold to a belief that there is nothing
made on this world that is not real somewhere else. There are too many
possible combinations in the universe to say that Jen, Kira, and Fizzgig
don't exist and didn't fight to save their world. We'll never meet
them, but who knows, we might be their dream."
"As you may or may not know, The Dark Crystal is a Jim Henson Production
that wisks you away to a new world where you will encounter strange and
interesting new creatures. (Skeksis, Gelflings, Podlings, etc.)" A small
page, but the quality of the images in fantastic! It's well worth a
visit!
"An established leader in family entertainment for more than 40 years, The
Jim Henson Company is an independent multimedia production company; one of
the top licensors in the industry; a leading publisher of children's books;
and home to Jim Henson Television, Jim Henson Pictures, Jim Henson
Interactive, Jim Henson's Muppet Workshop, and Jim Henson's Creature Shop™.
The Jim Henson Company is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices and
production facilities in New York and London." This site goes hand in hand
with the Dark Crystal sites above, as it was The Jim Henson
Company (then Henson Organization) that co-produced The Dark Crystal
with Britain's ITC Entertainment.
