Prophesies
from the Bible |
Prophecies of another prophet to come
The bible talks about so many prophecies, that talks about the coming of another prophet, and not precisely Prophet Jesus (a.s.), but Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.).
Every single prophet from the past prophesied the coming of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), under inspiration from Allah, The Almighty. The importance of this Bible prophecies from The Old and New Testament, point and testified the finality of prophethood.
I will mention some of them, as follows: 1. On this first prophecy, Allah (God) is talking to Moses (a.s.) in Deuteronomy 18:18-20, and it says like this:
18 "I will raise them a prophet from among
their brethren like unto thee, and will put my
words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto
them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever
will not hearken unto my words which he shall
speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to
speak a word in my name, which I have not com-
manded him to speak, or that shall speak in the
name of other gods, even that prophet shall die." If you notice the way that Allah says, "I will raise them a prophet.......like unto thee", HE can not be referring to Jesus (a.s.), because he was not consider a prophet like Moses (a.s.) was, instead he was consider a son of God (by the Christians), but Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) was consider a prophet just like Moses (a.s.) was, prophet Jesus (a.s.) didn't get married, he didn't have children, he didn't have a father (Because he was created by the power of word, from God) and he didn't die, he was risen to heaven. But Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) he got married, he had children, he was the son of a man and a woman and he died just like prophet Moses (a.s.) had, in other words Jesus (a.s.) wasn't like Moses (a.s.), but Muhammad (s.a.w.) was like Moses (a.s.). Besides both Prophet Moses (a.s.) and Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), received laws from God, to be applied on our daily living. While Jesus (a.s.) himself said "I am not come to destroy the Law but to fulfill" (Matthew 5:17). Going back to the scriptures in the same paragraph, it explains that the promised prophet will not come from Israel but from their brethren, remember that Israel comes from the lineage of Isaac (a.s.) which is the lineage of Prophet Jesus (a.s.), but the Arabs come from the lineage of Ishmael (a.s.) which is the lineage of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) and the scripture is very clear when it states "I will raise you a prophet from their brethren" (Isaac & Ishmael (a.s.), where sons of Prophet Abraham (a.s.) so Ishmael (a.s.) is the brethren (brother) of Isaac (a.s.) being Ishmael (a.s.) the first born. Now let's learn something about Prophet Ishmael (a.s.) about his birth, his descendency and his ralation with Allah, so we can understand the prophecy of the one to come, let's see.
Genesis 16:
3 "And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her
maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten
years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her
husband Abram to be his wife.
10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her I
will multiply thy seed exceedingly that it shall
not be numbered for the multitude.
11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her,
Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son
and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the
LORD hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be
against every man, and every man's hand
against him; and he shall dwell in the presence
of all his brethren. after this Sarai conceived another son of Prophet Abraham (a.s.), and named him Isaac (a.s.), And when Sara had her own son felt that she didn't need of Hagar and her son anymore, because she now had her own child, and came to Abraham (a.s.) to ask him to dismiss Hagar and her son. So let's see what happened.
Genesis 21:
14 "And Abraham rose up early in the mor-
ning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and
gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder,
and the child, and sent her away: and she de-
parted, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-
sheba.
17 And God heard the voice of the lad: and
the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven,
and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear
not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad
where he is.
18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine
hand; for I will make him a great nation.
21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran:
and his mother took him a wife from the land of
Egypt." to this fact is that King David (a.s.), refers to, when he prophesied the following.
Psalms 118:
22 "The stone wich the builders refused is be-
come the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in
our eyes.
24 This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of
the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of
the LORD."
In order to explain this, I have to make reference to the Arabic language. The word Paran comes originally from Arabic. In Arabic language there is no "p" so "f" is used instead, like for example Palestine is pronounced Falestine. The Arabs of the past, named the place where Ishmael (a.s.) and his mother stayed, as Faran, which means "two refugees", because they took the boy and his mother as refugees from their family. And when this place came to be a permanent stay for the merchants arab-egyptian, placed between Egypt and Siria, this place came to be known as Bakkata, this place is mentioned in the book of Joshua (13:27) as Beth-ar-am, that in Arabic would be Bait-ul-Haram, which is known today as Ka'bah, or the Holly House, and it is found in Mecca.
On the other hand the name of Hagar, is also of Arabic origin, the letter "j" is pronounced "g", so her original name would be "Hajar" which means "stone".
The prophetic songs of King David (a.s.) about "Hajar", shows the prominent meaning, when he said:
"The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner". (Psalms 118:22)
The understanding of this prophetic songs followed by the harp of David (a.s.) King and Prophet by the commandment of Allah, nobody in his right mind can deny that King David (a.s.) was referring to Hagar, because her name means stone, and she was rejected by prophet Abraham (a.s.), adviced by his wife Sara, so Ishmael (a.s.) would not inherit anything from Abraham (a.s.).
2. Here Jesus (a.s.) is talking to the people of
Israel, reminding them the same prophetic words that King David (a.s.) said previously:
Matthew 21:
42 "Jesus said unto them, did ye never read in
the scriptures. The stone which the builders re-
jected, the same is become head stone of the cor-
ner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous
in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of
God shall be taken from you, and given to a na-
tion bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone
shall be broken: but on whosoever it shall fall,
it will grind him to powder."
When the scriptures say: "The stone that was rejected.....this stone was made head stone of the corner", when Hagar was rejected she came to be a lider because Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was a straight descendent from her son Ishmael (a.s.).
Jesus (a.s.) himself said that the kingdom of God was going to be taken away from them (Israel) and given to another nation, To whom? Let's read to whom it should be given to:
3. As we remember, previously when Allah promised to Hagar the following. Genesis 21:
18 "Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine
hand; for I will make him a great nation."
Every single prophecy about Isaac (a.s.) was fulfilled, but not the ones made over Ishmael (a.s.), and this prophecies were fulfilled with the coming of prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), and like I mentioned before, Muhammad (s.a.w.) comes from the lineage of Ishmael (a.s.). So the great nation that Allah promised, was fulfilled over Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.).
4. On this prophecy, the promised prophet to come, the prophet in whom Allah will make a great nation, the nation that Jesus (a.s.) was talking about, when he was talking to the people of Israel in Matthew 21:42.
Psalms 45:
2 "Thou art fairer than the children of men:
grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath
blessed thee for ever.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, o most
mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously be-
cause of truth and meekness and righteous-
ness; and thy right hand shall teach thee
terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the
king's enemy; whereby the people fall under
thee." (sign of greatness)
This prophecy can not be referring to Jesus (a.s.), because he never used a sword, even that it's written that he send his disciples to sell their clothe so they could buy swords.
Luke 22:36 "Then he (Jesus) said: And he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one".
But prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) he did have a sword and he used it to defend the message, that Allah had commanded him to speak.
5. In this other prophecy, you can appreciate the way that prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), is prophesied.
Isaiah 41:
2 "Who raised up the righteous man from the
east, called him to his foot, gave the nations be-
fore him, and made him rule over kings? he gave
them as the dust to his sword, and as driven
stubble to his bow."
Who was the one that Allah rose up from the east and gave nations to his sword? Muhammad (s.a.w.), because Jesus (a.s.) he never used a sword, he never brought a whole nation to worship the name of God. And you can also notice that Jesus (a.s.) was never called to preach, because he was already a prophet from his birth, commanded by Allah, but Muhammad (s.a.w.), he was called when he was praying in the cave of Hira.
6. It was also predicted by Jesus (a.s.), the prophet that was supposed to come, was supposed to come after him.
John 16:
7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth;
it is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the comforter
will not come unto you; but if I depart,
I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come,
he will reprove the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment:
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth,
come, he will guide you into all truth:
for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come."
The way for the mentioned prophet to come was, that Jesus (a.s.) was not supposed to be here on earth, because their message was exactly the same, (to repent and to worship ONE God only)
7. Once again we can see so clear how Jesus (a.s.), prophesied the coming of prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) for the second time, he is not referring to a angelical spirit, but to a flesh and bones spirit, like he himself was, let's see.
John 14:
16 "And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
24 He that loveth me not keepeth
not my sayings:
and the word which ye hear is not mine,
but the Father's which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken
unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things, and bring all
things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have
said unto you."
OK, first let's go to versicle 16, when he said "another Comforter", this is when I refer that Jesus (a.s.) can not be talking about an "angelical spirit" but about a "flesh and bone spirit", if you notice, he said "another" this words can be translated as "like me", because he was always ready to confort whoever came to him, and that's why he said "another Comforter". Now let's read versicle 24, he bear witness that everything he said was not his own, but revealed to him from the Father who sent him. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) never claimed to be the author of anything that was revealed to him from Allah, the message that he gave us, was the same message that Jesus (a.s.) delivered, and in one way or another prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), reminded us the words that Jesus (a.s.) said, just like he announced it in versicle 26.
8. Now to close all these prophecies, I live you with this last one said by God HIMSELF.
Isaiah 42:
6 "I the LORD have called thee
in righteousness, and will hold
thine hand, and will keep thee, and
give thee for a covenant of the people,
for a light of the gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes,
to bring out the prisoners from
the prison, and them that sit in
darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name:
and my glory will I not give to another,
neither my praise to graven images.
9 Behold, the former things
are come to pass, and new things
do I declare: before they spring
forth I tell you of them."
Versicle 6: Once again I remind you what I said before about Jesus (a.s.), that he was not called to preach, because he was already a prophet before his birth, but prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) he was called while he was performing his prayers. Versicle 7: Jesus (a.s.) didn't open the eyes of blinds, although he gave sight to blind people which is different, (you can see anything which is normal but, not see the things that God is revealing), but prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) he opened the eyes of the unbelievers, being just himself against a whole nation, (with this I'm referring to the eyes of your soul), and then it says "and them who sit in darkness out of the prison house". Jesus (a.s.) set free those who were possessed by demons and also helped those who were worshipping idols, to worship his God, our God, but Muhammad (s.a.w.) he sat free whole nations from worshipping idols, because the Arabs of the past, the had many idols as gods, and the prison house, was nothing else that the place were these idols were found.
Well my dear friend, here I finish my humble work which I dedicate to Allah our Creator, our God, I hope that this small message will help you understand the meaning of the real monotheism, which is the believing in ONE God only, and not in one divided God.
May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon you
AMEN.
