Date: Mon, 11 May 1998 From: Steve Stenbro 1877house@disknet.com Subject: Pyatt/Irwin "Am looking for information on Charles Pyatt Sr whose wife was Katheryn Swallow. They were probably married before 1915. They had one son, Charles JrCharlie worked for the railroad and when he died, Katheryn remarried to Guy Herbert Irwin Sr. Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter: Robert Irwin, a daughter that died at age 5 or 6, Guy Herbert Irwin Jr, and George Irwin. Only living relative out of this bunch is Guy Jr. We know very little about the rest. My father-in-law was born 04 Jan 1921 so the marriage date should be two or three years before his birth. The only reason I was looking for the Pyatt connection is because I haven't been able to come up with anything on the Swallows.Thank you for your response. Steve Stenbro"

Posting on Genforum Date: July 21, 1998 From: Lynn Morris-McEwan lynnnjoe@netins.net Subject" Rilla Pyeatt (Gaberilla?) "I am looking for information on this woman. She is thought to be half Native American and the daughter of William Pyeatt and Polly Baize. In a census that listed Angelica Pyeatt in the household listed her (Gaberilla) as a child of Wm and Polly. We thought her name was Rilla. So, it is in a census, but I can't tell you exactly which one. We were told her parents names and I'm not sure by who...so we did have that clue to go on, but no proof of it. I also have Angelica and William Pyeatt parenting a Mesmarie...They lived in Missouri in the 1800's

Genforum reply to Posting Date: August 12, 1998 From: Maggie Mkh45@aol.com Subject: Piatt Mystery "My mother-in-laws mother was Rosetta Piatt. She had a twin sister named Sarah; their mother's name was Isabelle Smith or Palmer (mother's name Martha she was married to Benjamin Piatt. I found the twins on a census and at that time they were adopted by a Flanegan family. Isabell Smith was married three times. She was born c1848. Her first husband's name was John Piatt. He died young in 1874. Second she married Fred McVey, he also died. Isabelle then married William or David Parks. She died in 1938. I'm trying to find out if the twins were adopted as my mother-in-law says they weren't...but on Rosetta's death certificate under maiden name it said "not known", seems as though there is some kind of mystery. I have alot of info. on Piatts from near columbus, Ohio. Please let me know if you can help or if you want me to send anything else I have. Thank you, Maggie {notes: Isabel Palmer and Benjamin Piatt were married in Monroe Co OH on 7 Apr 1894. An Isabel Piatt was married to John McVay on 5 Jan 1884 in Monroe Co. Speculation is that Benjamin was the son of William and Precious Keene?/Ella Brown? Piatt. A Benjamin F Piatt, aged 24, died in Monroe Co OH on 2 Jan 1879. The family of Calvin and Nancy Flanigan who adopted Rosetta and Sarah E Piatt (twins b 1875) was listed on the 1880 census for Graysville, Washington Twp, Monroe Co. OH. LIP)

Date: Wed, 08 Sep 1999 From: mlpyeatt@excite.com Subject: Re: PYEATT " It seems strange that so many names in my family tree corrolate with yours, especially the dates. My gg-grandfather, Samuel Pyeatt came to Bottoms, Texas from Arkansas around 1850. His brother was Jacob who was from Missouri, and their father, too, was Samuel who I always believed was from Arkansas as well. The funny thing about the Pyeatt's of Missouri is that an 1840's United States, or state, Congressman (I cant recall) was named P-Y-E-A-T-T. This, however, contradicts with the spelling of your family name of Piatt. I do know that my family has kept the name Pyeatt since dropping the original "e" off the end in the mid 1700's in North Carolina. I am not familiar with the mailing list. I got some info. on it but unfortunately I accidentally erased it too soon. It remains to be seen if their is a connection and I hope to hear from you on this mailing list info. Matthew Pyeatt "
