by VP Bubba Whittemore, in President’s absence

Old Business: Reports were given regarding our recent
Christmas 2000 Toy Run (by Keith DuPriest) and also the
Toys for Tots Run in El Dorado (by Bill Norris). Norris
also provided pics from the District 9 Toy Run. Updated
status of small D9 patch order. These should be in, and
available to members, before the next meeting. Discussed
date for workday to do some maintenance work on clubhouse
and outbuildings. Decided on Sunday, January 7th. If
rained out, will move date to following Sunday.
New Business: Discussed Barry Brownlee’s suggestion
that we contribute to the Brookshire’s canned food
drive. Decision was made to have a short "canned
food ride" on Saturday, December 9th, leaving as a
group from the Travel Center at 1:00pm. Upon arriving at
Brookshire’s, we will all drop off canned food items
in a box in front of store, as well as donating a check
to the drive in the amount of $100 (approved by vote).
Bubba Whittemore made members aware of a couple of Toy
Runs coming up at the Harley Shop in Shreveport, La.
Members were made aware that nominations for officers of
D9 will commence at next month’s meeting. Also, it
was recommended that we use ballots for nominating, as
well as electing, officers. Actual elections will take
place at the February meeting. Discussed working up our
schedule of events for next year. Agreed that we would
host at least 3 major events next year: Bike Show, Fall
Rally, and Toy Run. Other events may be added later. We
will also most likely have an event just for D9 members
early in the Spring.
Accepted new membership applications at the meeting from
Dee & Margaret West, and Danny Walthall. Additional
guest was Chuck Hanson.
Danny Walthall was the lucky winner of the 50/50 drawing.
