of ABATE District 9 General Meeting December, 2002

members present plus 2 guests
President Ricky
Dennis called meeting to order at 7:10 pm.
Welcomed guest (and
new member to-be) Kathy Grissom, from Camden, as well as
Joe Bunner
Motion made,
seconded, and carried, to accept the minutes as read
Treasurer’s
report presented by Ken Pearson. MMS&C to accept
treasurer’s report as read.
Old Business:
Discussed events from the last month, including our
recent Christmas 2002 Toy Run. It was noted that
we definitely need more officers/escorts for future
parades. Joe Bunner also reported that the Swamp
Riders M/C had a successful Toy Run, with about 80
bikes.
New Business: Discussed
upcoming events for December, including El Dorado Toy
Run set for Saturday, December 7th. The Confederates
M/C, as well as ABATE of Arkansas (Little Rock)
will also be having Toy Runs on that date.
Motion was made and
approved to have a D9 Super Bowl watch party in
January. Nena Dennis will check around for possible
location.
Discussed upcoming D9
officer nominations in January, and the need for
"new blood" for 2003. Motion made and approved
to send out letter to all members of D9 encouraging them
to come to January meeting and participate in the
nomination process.
Talked about group
ride to Myrtle Beach, S.C., Rally, May 9th - 18th.
Anyone interested in going needs to get in touch with
Rick Dennis ASAP so he can call in block room
reservations.
James Whitefield
was the lucky recipient of the 50/50, walking away with $17.50
gas money.
