Within sight of the Eagle

 

'Pon high the eagle walks,

Effortless, winged strides,

Cactus below, looks up and talks,

Tides of dune, break 'pon rocks,

Sky turns the colour of cork,

Scorpion lays tracks, poison needle,

Convulsions strike, onslaught of storm,

Sand waves flay, choking dust,

Stars appear around the sun,

Darkness comes, feel the light,

Breath is stifled, no blockage,

I become a dessert,

The eagle is away.
