check out "Dustin's page" for my newest poem~~"The Proposal"...about, you guessed it, Dustin's proposal to me. "A LOST FRIEND"
Here you come up the steps
God, you look such a mess
Please don't tell me where you've been
Or who else you let get in.
It's the same story every time
You had two pills and a dime
Then the guy started to mack
Next thing you knew you were on your back.
Please don't tell me you're ok
Because I know the games you play
You'll never be quite the same
As the girl who's friend I became.
Please don't tell Me how to act
Because its you who's life's off track.
We used to talk for hours together,
Now when I call you're out with...whoever.
We never do anything together anymore
And everyone asks me why I'm friends with a whore.
Please don't tell me you're lonely after I leave
Because you left me a long time ago, you see.

"RUNAWAY"
As I walk across the room
My shadow slides across the wall
Long and sleek, as I creep
Past the dark and silent hall.
Light are my steps now
As I pass my mother's room
My house is still sleeping-dumb
But they'll be waking soon.
Now I'm walking down the road
Don't know where I'm going to go
Only knowing that I'm cold
Don't ever want to go back home.

"TEARS"
Never turn your back on tears,
Do not stem the flow;
Put your arms about her
Gently, let her go.
Knowing why is not important,
Weeping sometimes is.
Let her cry~but kindly~
With a kiss. ©
