Mrs. Jean Gordon Rites Set Friday

Funeral services will be held in St. John's Presbyterian Church Friday at 2pm. for Mrs. Jean Gordon, 454 Second St, SE, who died in Municipal Hospital on Monday after a lengthy illness.
Rev. Robert L. Taylor will officiate under the auspices of Ruth Rebekah Lodge No.5 and interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery under the direction of Pattison funeral Home.
Mrs. Gordon was born in Totton, Hants, England, and came to Toronto in 1906. She later moved to Buffalo, N.Y., and married Ralph A. Gordon in that (?county.)
The couple lived in various United States points and came to Medicine Hat in 1913.
Mrs. Gordon was an active member of of the Ruth Rebekah Lodge and was a Past Noble Grand, past President of the Rebekah Assembly of Alberta and a member of the past president's club. She was an active member of St. John's Church and devoted to the ladies organizations of the congregation.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1940.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Kern, San Fransisco, Calif: a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mydia Gordon, Medicine Hat,: one sister, Mrs. florence Hood, and one brother, Allan Dibden, in England and a nephew, Frank Reade, Vernon, B.C.
