THE FORGOTTEN SAINT? This is the title that is sometimes given to St. Jude Thaddeus. It is hard to conceive how any saint of God could really be forgotten by men, yet it may be explained by a certain confusion of names. No doubt it was the reason of the shameful treason of another Jude, Judas Iscarlot, that the name of a glorious apostle and martyr has suffered the forgetfulness of men.

At all times, therefore, in this short sketch of our patron's life, He will be be called not only St. Jude, but St. Jude Thaddeus. Today, more than ever is the power of St. Jude Thaddeus being revived in the minds and hearts of men. He, in turn, is proving himself more than an ordinary advocate by, apparently, taking special delight in coming to the aid of persons in desperate need. Therefore, he is known as the "Patron of Desperate Cases."

Although the name, St. Jude Thaddeus, has been neglected in the devotions of men, it is nevertheless one of the oldest names in the calendar of the Church. It has the sanction of antiquity dating back to the call of the apostles. It is found in the Canon of the Mass he is called Thaddeus.

Life of St. Jude Thaddeus

A NINE DAYS' private or public devotion in the Catholic Church to obtain special graces. The octave has more of the festal character; to the novena belongs that of hopeful mourning, of yearning, of prayer. "The number nine in Holy Writ is indicative of suffering and grief". The novena is permitted and even recommended by ecclesiastical authority, but still has no proper and fully set place in the liturgy of the Church. It has, however, more and more been prized and utilized by the faithful. Four kinds of novenas can be distinguished: novenas of mourning, of preparation, of prayer, and the indulgenced novenas, though this distinction is not exclusive.

The St. Jude Novena Site aims to inspire you to persevere in the face of your particular difficulty. Its known not to fail specially when prayed sincerely from the heart.

IN THE CATHOLIC RELIGION, the Rosary is one of the most beautiful and sacred prayers. The Rosary is a devotion to God through a devotion to Mary. It's a series of prayers. The Rosary offers hope even though there are pains and sorrows in the world.

The Rosary is the recitation of five decades of the Our Father, ten Hail Mary's, and a Glory Be. The person mediates on the saving mysteries of our Lord's life and the Blessed Mother. The Rosary beads are used to keep track of prayers being recited. The Rosary reminds us of what Jesus lived through and did for us. By praying the rosary, people obtain a deeper appreciation of these events.
