Painting using computer software has always fascinated me. It is great because if you don't like something, you can always fix it. This is not the case with acrylic or oil on canvas. A digital canvas allows ultimate flexibility and helps understand exactly what you need to get out of each and ever piece. It takes a combination between computer and software knowledge, as well as normal paint techniques to complete a successful digital painting.. one cannot be present without the other. Adobe photoshop, which is what I use for all of my art, simulates certain techniques in art that might not be put to good use if one is not properly trained in these methods physically. as time passes more images will be added to this collection.

Here is a piece that originated from a photo taken on Long Island. The sky was replaced by a yellow/blue gradient, a cloud pattern, and a rainbow gradient. The foreground was then given some brush stroke effects and a distortion filter. It was done using Adobe Photoshop 6

Photoshop 6.0 and Eyecandy.. simple manipulation with extraordinary results for that surrealistic landscape feel.

This is a piece i made using hundreds of layer effects in photoshop. I started out just painting a mess of colors all over the canvas, then started to strategically apply layer effects such as bevel, drop shadow, etc.. To finish it off I messed around with some mirror and water effects.

It is hard to see whats going on in the painting to the right until you enlarge the image. This is the balance between good and evil. In the top left corner is an angel looking down. And at the bottom right corner is a demon growling up towards the sky. There is little contrast in color or light here, the contrast in the imagery is more than enough.
Here is the running man.. It is 3 a.m. place...somewhere on the open highway of midwest America. Darting across the street just the same as the hapless possum who ends up a part of the road and the dinner for hungry crows. It is dark, and the man runs.. but can he escape the deadly path?
Combination of a photo of a wine glass taken in very low red light, a heavenly glow surrounding the glass, and an inferno brewing from within.. the effects were added to the photo using adobe photoshop 6.
