Chrysalis
(celebrating new life)
< Previous----Next>
The motifs of chrysalises and butterflies were common in ancient Minoan and
Mycenaean art. Gold chrysalis beads and pendants have been found buried in
several archaeological sites. With its amazing transformation from seemingly
lifeless cocoon to vivid butterfly, the chrysalis evokes the wondrous passage
from the womb to the outside world, declaring a bold celebration of new life.
Made from glazed red earthenware clay, the back of this limited edition piece
displays the artist's signature stamp and the LQP chop mark, 1 3/4" high.
