The woman's monologue describes the birth of a unique moment, a melancholy mixture of lonesome lives, maritime architecture and early-morning peace. This is where all kinds of people begin their day, each one in a different way, and all of them alone. The film deals with the city and the manner in which it changes every individual. The monologue additionally makes it clear how people constantly define their expectations anew in face of the intensity and size of a big city on the waterfront. Both films of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster were shown this year in the context of the international film festival in Cannes.

The exhibition presents a few succinct and unusual moments from the twentieth-century avant-garde. It explores the question of whether creation can always be equated with art, as in the examples of Griffith, Steiner, and film still photography. At the same time, it is a question of how a work is received. When art is left to its fate, it becomes not only a source of energy propelling artistic desire, but also a symbol of the spirit of its time.
. Seuss (Ted Geisel), will take place in London on November 15th. The 10th edition of the International Student Film Festival Amsterdam will be taking place at the Kriterion Cinema from the 10th till the 18th of November. A platform for the filmmakers of the future dealing with contemporary themes, this event includes films with original, intriguing, and sometimes disturbing visions made by students around the globe. All films presented this year have been made in the period between 1995 and 2000.
Visitors will be encouraged to handle and use replicas of the models. In association with the Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht, and under the auspices of the Abdij Sint- Benedictusber- Vaals; with financial support from the Netherlands Architecture Fund. An exhibition of contemporary work following the 1999 showings of Katarzyna Kobro and Dom Hans van der Laan, exploring the circular viewing experience associated with architecture as manifested in sculpture, drawing and film. To accompany the exhibition Belvedere, there will be a series of Wednesday Evening Talks in March, and in April there will be a symposium at the Henry Moore Institute which will address our recent exhibitions' concern with architectural space in a contemporary and historical context. 1947-87) revealing the French sculptor's habitual return to his childhood home as a source for all his creative work.
