This set commemorates the 150th birthday of the first postage stamp, the "Penny Black" (1840). The stamps were printed by letterpress with Adana 8-5 press by the Imperial Occussi-Ambeno Government Printing Office (KDPN), on gloss white paper with shiny gum, and they are perf 12. Each stamp has crown in gold, hieroglyphs in silver, Penny Black in black, denomination in purple, and country name in deep green: the frame colours are indicated here.
