I
first became interested in photography in high school. Using
my father's camera as an avenue for adventure, I would climb trees,
railroad
bridges, and electric towers as an exciting way to get the photograph
that I wanted.
During my senior year in college, the yearbook editor desperately needed
another photographer. This was when I discovered my passion for
photography. Within six months, I received a promotion to public
relations photographer and soon became published in most of the local
print media.
However, it was during this time that I felt that there was more to
accomplish in photography.
I began to look into becoming a photographic artist in
the Midwest.
I then moved to Fort Wayne Indiana, the hub of a large art fair region.
It quickly became apparent that I had entered a highly competitive
field. Although I initially had little experience, I was able to
establish a trademark style (see art page) which opened doors to the
nations best shows, and won highest awards in the top10 national art
competitions.
These early experiences provided a foundation for much of the techniques
that I use today. Currently, I
maintain this same approach as I had in those early years of climbing
bridges,
electric towers, and when traveling abroad; "I do what I need to do to
get the shot."
