Banner Blinky Tutorial

by Felicia Benoit

Well, here's one I've been meaning to do for a while, just to see how I liked it. I hated it. I had the devil of a time with the color replacer tool. (Hint if you do this tutorial yourself: reset the color replacer tool's tolerance level to something that actually works, I suggest 40-50.) And it just seemed to take a long time to do such a small thing. However, I know they're a rage, and they aren't all that hard, and I figured someone who saw mine might appreciate knowing where I learned it.

Another problem was that I chose a "complimentary" color, not a bright and off-the-wall color. Trust me, try it with something ODD and BRIGHT. It'll look more like it's "blinking". Enjoy!

Beginners Tutorial

Selections Frames by MJ

I had the devil of a time figuring out how to manage the border here. It still didn't turn out like the tutorial one, but I liked it anyhow. I'm just a sucker for orange, peach, and puffy edges.

Dimensions With Masks
By Whispers Corner

Well, I had a very simple problem with this one. "FILL WITH INTERIOR COLOR UNCHECKED" wasn't in there for the "cutout" steps. I ended up with some freakish black and white blob. So, I backed up and looked again, and figured it out. Must say, liked it a lot better the second time. LOL.

Wish you could center masks on the part of the picture you want. So, I tried again with a different subject, but it still was a little off. Oh well. They're both pretty anyhow.

Foolin' Around with Plugins, Colours, and Angles

by Jubilate

Easy, but addictive little tutorial.

And ones I made myself.

Tutorial below, per request.

I turned the panel to a gold emboss by going to: Effects: Texture Effects: Sculpture. I used the default "GOLD" setting, but changed the setting "DEPTH" to a higher number until I got the effect I was after.

Note: This setting will color the entire thing gold, no matter what color you started with.

The one in the last panel is done the same way, but I used "COPPER" setting, increasing the depth again. For some added fun, try changing the default color (Not pattern, the color on the upper right hand side) to blue or red or green. It makes some fun effects.

Free For All - Fall/Autumn Theme

Autumn Garden Tutorial

by Ravanne, Wizzard, Jon and Laurel for Tutorials Made Easy group.

Well, this was pretty simple, since I could see going in that I knew how to make the border. Turned out, while it was easy, I learned some stuff, too. I liked how they manipulated the selection tool, getting a good square without having to try to draw it on the picture.

Obviously, mine has some changes. First, I leather-textured the outside border to match the inner bars. Second, my leaves don't look quite the same, which was fine with me. Less "lined up" the better.
