As you can see, the first thing I did was
lighten some of the colors. While good looking country-style
colors, they were far too dark for my taste. If you're going to go
to all the bother of having a pattern, someone should be able to
see it.
I also didn't mess with the hair. Smudging
kept moving pockets of transparency around and just looked all
kinds of bad. After about the 4th time I said, just leave it, and
did.
Decided to go with a whole row of tiny apples
on the hat to match that one button on her shirt. I still think
she could have used an apron, but I didn't want to make one.
Finished it off with "Welcome" in Kid Font with a bubble
bevel on it.
