Intermediate Tutorial

Apple Welcome Girl by Ally's Tutorials

As you can see, the first thing I did was lighten some of the colors. While good looking country-style colors, they were far too dark for my taste. If you're going to go to all the bother of having a pattern, someone should be able to see it.

I also didn't mess with the hair. Smudging kept moving pockets of transparency around and just looked all kinds of bad. After about the 4th time I said, just leave it, and did.

Decided to go with a whole row of tiny apples on the hat to match that one button on her shirt. I still think she could have used an apron, but I didn't want to make one. Finished it off with "Welcome" in Kid Font with a bubble bevel on it.

Don't even ask me why this table is flush to the left. I can't figure it out.

Beginner Tutorial

Fun House Twister Background

by Jan's Designs

Once I managed to download 20/20, this was easy and fun. You can see how the tile works back there as a background, and I just love it. I made it from a picture my husband took in our backyard of one of our flowering artichokes with a bee on it.

I recommend this tutorial to anyone who wants to make great backgrounds. I also recommend you get the download manager, Net Vampire, before attempting to download 20/20. I doubt I could have downloaded the program without it.
