My paint has to be cleared over. Making them much more
permanent than most.
The problem with that comes when an auto needs to be sold,
or the owner is simply tired of it. I always hesitate because
of the expense to refinish those panels is usually higher
than that of paingting the sign.
Tinks
is the busiest parts joint in town. His delivery vehicles
are kept imaculate. I think that makes a big impression
on the customers nomatter how much they complain about markup.
These red ones are what he's been associated with for years. The
original sign company that did these had left town. The
vinyl just wasn't lasting long enough, well neither was
the one shot. Now I've been clearing over the lettering,
they look alot more professional.
Most
people would say "a bit much", but Tink says "I've
always wanted to do something like this.". When it
was done he had a hard time justifing it, but I think response
was good enough. It wasn't long before another was being
painted.
