This chair was a big challenge for me. It took 300 hours of work to make the chair. I find the twig and resin process really interesting and the look of the wood in colored resin is really fabulous. The idea came to me from watching a friend blowing glass. He was picking up small pieces of cullet on the bubble and melting them into the hot glass. I thought it would be cool to cast wood in glass but of course the wood would burn. The next best thing I could think of was to cast wood pieces in resin. My Dad works in solid surface so I had some knowledge of resin and particulate and the look it creates. I have many products available in this material today including countertops, vanities, bowls, coffee tables, clocks and candles.

You can see the labor involved in this process. I would like to make another one someday. Do you want to help?
