AYAKO FUJIOKA (principal of Hong Kong Ballet)

Ayako entered the Sapporo Dance Society in 1971. In 1987 she went to France and trained with the Daini Kudo Ballet in La Rochelle. Four years later, she joined the Tokyo Festival Ballet. In 1991 and 1993, she received the Science and Culture Awards from the Hokkaido Youth Arts Centre and the Culture Award from Ebetsu City. Ayako joined the Hong Kong Ballet in 1994 and was promoted to Principal Dancer the following year. She has performed the principal roles in most of the classics.

Ayako promoted to the "51 Hong Kong Dance Hall of Fame Dance Artists" in2003.
