You have entered a realm unlike any
other you have seen before....that is, if you have never heard of
the world of fur. I do not mean fur as in those wonderful coats
made from the pelts of dead animals, but the state of mind many
young people on the net believe in and use to escape the reality
of the world around them.
A fur is an animal of some kind, be it wolf, panther, fox, eagle,
or what you identify yourself with, that has humanistic qualities
such as intelligence, an upright stance much like a human's. The
amount of human characteristics a fur can have depends on the
person being the fur. Some go as far as not having anything
remotely human about their characters while others have varying
degrees.
Furs such as myself are usually a 50/50 mix of their chosen
animal and human, but retain much of the personality associated
with that animal. A little confusing, yes, but it is true. Many
go as far as idealizing their characters into something almost
impossible to ever imagine.
To help explain this further, I have gone through and found the
meanings to some of these terms I have been using.

Anthromorphic: An animal with
human-like qualities and characteristics or is partially human.
Bioengineering: A science dedicated to perfecting or
creating and 'better' type of animal.
Digitgrade: The practice of walking on the toes rather
than walking flat footed. See also plantigrade.
Furry: This term refers any who play an anthromorphic
character. Also know as a fur.
Funny Animal: This term refers mostly to cartoonish
animals such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy duck and the like although it
is used to refer to any furry, funny or not.
FurryMUCK: An interactive, social role playing game on the
internet. Like the name suggests, this MUCK deal primarily in
furry characters.
Moreau: A genetically bioengineered animal or human mixed
with an animal. named for the character known as Dr. Moreau)
Morph: Short for anthromorphic. Also known as morphic.
MUCK: Multi User Character Kingdom an intereactive social
role playing game on the interent with a theme(s) and/or is based
off an idea or story.
MUD: Multi User Dungeon Similar to MUCK but has slightly
different coding in the base program itself.
Personal Furry: 1. One's own character on a MUCK/MUD. 2.
An animal or character who best fits one's own personality. 3.
One's favorite type of animal. I.E. cats, dogs, birds 4. A
personal totem.
Plantigrade: The practice of walking flat footed like a
human instead of on your toes like a cat.
Zoomorphic: A human the displays animal like
characteristics or is partially mixed with an animal.
