[Fly Me To The Moon]

"Fly Me To The Moon" (1998)

I created this picture as a gift to a great friend, Lady Lua. She is studying witchcraft and I'm sure she will be a great sorceress. My inspiration to this picture, which was completely electronically edited, came from the song Fly Me to The Moon, an old song played in the ending credits of Neon Genesis Evangelion, a Japanese anime series.

[Snow Covered Unicorn]

"Snow Covered Unicorn" (1998)

I created this picture as a gift to a great Russian friend, Pavel Alexeyev. The inspiration to this picture came from two characters I created, Khrysos, the golden unicorn, and Lairina, daughter of a great sorceress unicorn. Still very young, they have never left their homeland, an enchanted country where the climate is ever warm and comforting. Thus, they have never known snow, not until the destiny led them to their first adventure outside home...

[Raccoon Anime 0]

"The Walking Raccoon" (1999)

This image was originally created to a Page for my university. Unfortunately, others thought it would be too informal for an official Page, so I couldn't let it there. Yes, raccoons are ever getting into trouble, aren't they...?

[Takhyon, The Knight Raccoon]

"Takhyon, The Knight Raccoon in Samurai Style" (1999)

This is my second raccoon image. It has now got a personality of his own. So, I present you Takhyon, the knight raccoon. He's wearing the Unicorn Bless magical plate armour, in samurai style. He carries no sword, no weapon, for he promised to his lover that he would never bear one again, and so it has been...

[Derion Welcomes You]

"Derion Welcomes You" (2000)

This is the first humanoid I draw, whole body. It is Derion Lisak Jes, a female rhandexak (felinoid, lioness-like features). She was born on Valkaid, a planet of the Felin-Set stellar system, and works as reporter on the Astra Press of Rhodion. When she is not in deep trouble, she wears a light dress and goes out, seeking for some...

[Good Evening, Ladies...]

"Good Evening, Ladies..." (2000)

This lion was chosen as the mascot of the 65th class of Veterinary Medicine of the FMVZ-USP (Brazil). His `slogan' is "kick the weak, eat the wounded, burn the dead". The original was "hunt it, kill it and eat it", a common Brazilian expression which means "we do it!" (or something like that). The new one is a variation from the war game "Diplomacy", which says "kill the wounded and eat the dead". My brother, Marcio "Yuji" Kawata, helped me a lot giving me ideas for the design, like the red rose in its pocket. It is based on a Disney character from "The Lion King", which was on its turn plagiarized (of course, they deny it) on the Japanese Osamu Tezuka's anime series "Djanguru Taitei" (The Emperor of The Jungle), also known as "Kimba, The White Lion". This picture is dedicated to the girls of my class.
