Sarge Lintecum, a three-tour, highly decorated Vietnam combat veteran, uses a variety of art forms to communicate, entertain and teach.
Sarge is a nationally accredited musician, song writer, and poet. His recording, Vietnam Blues - Combat Tested Blues... For Peace, honored by Billboard Magazine and endorsed by the Lee Oskar Harmonica Company, is a classic. Vietnam Blues is being played internationally through Radio For Peace International.
Sarge's poetry has received local and national awards. He is the 1994 United States Slam (performance art) Haiku Champion.
Sarge tours the country performing both music and poetry.
Sarge also teaches classes from elementary to high school level.
Sarge addresses a diversity of topics including the Vietnam War, performance art, poetry, Haiku poetry, blues music, and song writing.
Sarge reaches students locally and throughout the United States through satellite transmission, teaching classes for Educational Management Group, a division of Prentice-Hall.
Sarge and his wife, Leslie, have home taught their four children, ranging in age from twenty-six to eleven years old, giving Sarge experience with all grade levels.
Sarge also works well with at-risk students, individuals with disabilities, and students requiring high levels of attention.
