Practical Occultism with Dion Fortune

This book contains the complete text of Dion Fortune's "Practical Occultism in Daily Life" which she wrote to explain, simply and practically, enough of the occult doctrines and methods to enable any reasonably intelligent and well balanced person to make practical use of them in the circumstances of daily life. She gives sound advice on remembering past incarnations, working out karma, divination, the use and abuse of mind power and much more.

Gareth Knight has delved into the Dion Fortune archive to provide additional material not available before outside Dion Fortune's immediate circle. It includes instruction on astral magic, the discipline of the mysteries, inner plane communicators, black magic and mental trespassing, nature contacts and elemental shrines.

Dion Fortune and the Inner Light

This authoritative biography of Dion Fortune is based on the private archives of the Society of the Inner Light, drawing on material which has not been available to previous researchers. Some remarkable new information is brought to light, including her early trance experiments in Glastonbury with Frederick Bligh Bond, her plans to set up an esoteric clinic in the style of Dr. Taverner, and her secret meetings with her former Golden Dawn teacher, Maiya Tranchell-Hayes. Also included are details of mediumistic contacts with Dion Fortune after her physical death.

Pythoness: The Life and Work of Margaret Lumley Brown

The Society of the Inner Light is closely associated in the public mind with its founder Dion Fortune. What is less known is the importance of Margaret Lumley Brown who took over many of her functions from 1946 to 1961. She was probably the finest medium and psychic of the 20th century and raised the arts of psychism and mediumship to an entirely new level, and the high quality of communication that came through her has not been equalled.

Part One “Haunting Experiences” tells of her somewhat bizarre upbringing and of the frightening way in which her natural psychism developed as a consequence of living in a haunted house. Part Two is devoted to some articles written by her on Dreams, Elementals, the Faery Kingdom, Healing and Atlantis. Part Three provides examples of her mediumship with trance addresses on subjects as diverse as Elemental Contacts, Angels and Archangels, Greek and Egyptian gods, and the Holy Grail. A close friend of Algernon Blackwood, she was also much interested in poetics and the evocative power of rhythmic sound and Part Four is devoted to the occult side of poetry with some examples of her own work.
