Chapter Fourteen:
The Beach

"Shit..." I mumbled, walking closer to Nick. I smiled and stopped when I reached the crowd that stood around him and the guys. Nick pushed through the crowd and got to me quickly. He pulled me into a hug.

"Hey Fay, how was the ride here?" he asked me right away.

"Good, it didn't seem like that long." I told him.

"No, it's not that far." he started. He looked away for a second, but looked right back at me, "Sorry, I was a jerk yesterday... I was just hoping you could stick around with me and just hang out... but since you couldn't, I just got kinda mad... sorry." he apologized cutely.

"Oh it's ok, I shouldn't have taken off so fast. So... you just stopped for lunch too?" I asked him, changing the subject.

"Yeah... our soundcheck was at 10am... so we came here, and then we gotta go to some interviews I think... a radio show at 2pm til 3pm and then something else... I'm not even sure." he told me. I nodded.

"Our soundcheck is at 2:30pm..." I told him.

"Cool, I think my brother's is right after yours again." he replied plainly. He seemed a little distant. I still felt weird not telling him about Fox.

"Yo Nicky, we're eating now, come on." Howie yelled, "Oh hey girls, what's up?" he asked, when he saw us.

"You girls wanna eat with us?" Brian invited us. They all nodded so the ten of us sat together and the managers and bodyguards sat together.

We ate and talked, but everyone noticed I was a little out of it again. The girls knew why: I felt bad about being here with Nick when Fox was probably sitting on the bus bored as hell.

*Same Time; a beach somewhere*

"Guys, do you even know where we are?" Fox asked his brothers nervously. He felt like they were lost.

"Of course, we're only about twenty minutes from the arena, bro, don't worry. Jeff will be back to get us in like an hour anyway." Luke replied. Fox checked his watch, 12:30pm.

"Well, lookie here... some fine young ladies looking for some hot guys to keep them company." Tony said, pointing to a group of three girls, who looked a little younger than them.

"I guess they better keep looking, we are not going over to them." Fox disagreed.

"Sure we are, come on." Luke pulled his arm.

"No, I can't. I won't." he pulled back.

"Fine, stay here and be a loner, and get lost and-" Luke started, but Fox gave in.

"Fine, whatever, let's go." Fox yelled sadly.

The three guys strolled over to the ladies and stood infront of them. They all wore bikiniis and were stretched out in the hot sun.

"Hello ladies, how you doin'?" Tony asked them, trying to act cool. They all sat up, smiling.

"Great, now that you're here... I'm Lisa, this is Alissa and Randi." the dark haired girl replied.

"I'm Tony, these are my brothers, Luke and Fox." Tony introduced them.

"Wow, are you triplets?" one of the blondes, Randi, giggled.

"Yup." Luke laughed.

"Awesome..." Alissa smiled.

"We have about an hour to waste, we were wondering if we could hang out with you?" Tony flirted.

"Of course." Lisa said.

So Luke and Tony took off their t-shirts and sat beside the girls in the sand. Fox just stood there.

"C'mon Fox, live a little." Tony whispered to him.

"No, I don't wanna live unless I'm living with Fay... I gotta go, excuse me." he told them and took off.

"What's wrong with him?" Alissa wondered.

"I'm not sure, but we better go find out, sorry girls, we'll be back." Tony and Luke jumped up and ran after their brother. When they caught up to him, Tony grabbed his arm and yelled,

"What the hell is your problem? We're trying to enjoy our stay in Daytona Beach, and you're worried about your little girl, who'll you see in like a hour anyway!"

"Yeah, man, I think you're taking this relationship a little far... are you even sure that she feels that same... I mean, did she say she loves you?" Luke asked Fox.

"N-no... but I know she does, she doesn't have to say it." he replied.

"Fine, man, whatever. We're going back to the girls... you... do whatever you want." Tony said and turned around.

"I'm going back to the bus... see you guys later." Fox finished and ran towards the parking lot where the bus was waiting.

*Back in McDonald's*

"So, you seem quiet today, Fay, what's up?" Kevin asked me, lowering his voice a bit.

"Nothing, I'm just thinking... about how I can do something... I'm just confused about something." I told him.

"Oh ok... if you think any of us could help, just let us know, ok?" he told me. I nodded.

"Girls, we better get going, it's after 1pm and the limo is waiting outside for us." Jamal walked over to our booth and told us.

"Alright," Cher said, standing up, and the others followed her, except me. "Thanks for lunch guys... it's was fun."

"Yeah, we should hang out more often." AJ told us, and we all nodded. I stood up slowly. Nick stood up and pulled me away from the group a bit. Then he whispered,

"Is something wrong, or what? Or you mad at me?"

"No, I'm not mad at you... I do need to tell you something though..." I let my voice trail off, before I said anything else. Suddenly Dare grabbed my arm,

"We're leaving!" she yelled, "Bye Nick." she laughed, pulling me away from Nick.

"I'll tell you tonight, ok?" I asked him as I was pulled further and further away. He just nodded.

*An Hour Later; at the beach*

Luke glanced at his watch sadly. He knew they had to leave. He and Alissa were getting to know each other pretty good, and he looked over and saw Tony making out with Randi. It was just after 2pm.

"Tony... Tony! We gotta go, man." Luke said, basically pulling him off of Randi.

"Huh... what Luke?" Tony asked, totally out of it, not knowing what was going on around him.

"We have to go back to the bus now." Luke told Tony.

"Shit, seriously?" he asked. Luke nodded. "Damn... baby, sorry, we have to go now..." he told the girl, who looked sadly into his eyes.

"Oh, ok, let's keep in touch, let's get together again." she told him.

"Oh, man, we don't live here, we're just... on vacation... we're leaving tonight." he half-lied.

"Oh ok..." she said. Luke kissed Alissa's cheek, said goodbye, and stood up.

"Bye Randi, I'll always remember you." Tony told her, and she nodded.

"Bye Tony." she said sadly, as the two brothers walked away.

They found the bus in the parking lot, and unlocked it with their key. The driver wasn't there yet.

"Yo, bro, you here already?" Luke screamed at Fox.

"Yeah... in my bunk!" Fox yelled back. "Did you have fun?"

"I know Tony did..." Luke laughed, walking towards Fox's bunk.

The three brothers talked until Jeffery arrived and then they started the twenty minute drive back to the arena.
