*7:00pm; our dressing room*
"Baby... this is awesome, isn't it?" I asked Fox. I was just sitting on the couch, and he was laying down with his head in my lap. I was just kind of twirling his soft short hair in my fingers.
"Uh huh..." he said, "You're right, we don't always have to be making-out. This is great."
"I know, thanks, Foxy." I told him.
Suddenly the door flew open. Neither of us moved.
"You guys, it's 7:00pm, come on, we've gotta warm up." Joey ran in and yelled to us. Still, neither of us moved.
"Don't wanna..." Fox mumbled. I smiled.
"Too bad, get up! You'll have plenty of time to do whatever it is you're doing, after the show, on the bus." she laughed, and Fox sat up right away.
"Thanks Joe, we'll be right there." I told her, she nodded and left.
"Think of it this way, baby, the quicker we get on stage, and do the show, the quicker we can get on that bus and be alone in the bunk." I told Fox. He nodded.
"Let's go." he replied.
We got up and left the dressing room, and found the rest of the gang. We did our warm up pretty fast, and we went to get changed at quarter after. Then we went to hair and make up. We were all done by about quarter to 8pm, which was practically perfect.
We were just talking to Aaron for a few minutes, and just kinda getting hyped up. I held Fox's hand tightly.
"Cruel Sensation, you're on in three minutes!"
We all looked at each other and squealed. It's true what they say, everytime we're about to go onstage, we get the same feeling. Like it's our very first time, ever. It's a great feeling.
"Go get 'em, girls, you rock!" Aaron told us. We smiled and hugged him one more time.
Then the five of us went up on the dark stage. We knew exactly where to stand. We all just stood there silently. Fox was behind me, but not too close. I couldn't touch him.
"Pssst, baby..." he whispered to me.
"Shhhh, what?" I whispered back.
"I love you." he told me.
"I love you too." I smiled.
Suddenly the music started playing. I gave a squeal of excitement. The crowd went wild again, yelling and screaming, for us. They were yelling for us. That was so weird.
"Hello, Daytona!" Joey yelled.
"We are a new group called Cruel Sensation, and we are the opening act of the tour!" Cher told the audience.
"We hope you enjoy the show!" I yelled.
Then we sung our three songs, stopping for a minute between songs to talk to the audience. Then we ran backstage again, after thanking the crowd.
"Man, what a rush!" Dare screamed. We all agreed. I was too excited and tired to talk.
A few minutes later, Rowdy was getting ready to go on. We still hadn't talked to them much. We just figured they were insensitve egomaniacs. That's how they acted whenever we saw them, at least. While they were on, I was still kind of in a daze of being onstage. I loved that feeling so much.
"Baby, you wanna come to the entertainment room with the rest of us?" Fox whispered in my ear. Although I sort of wanted to, I shook my head no.
"Is it ok if I stay here and watch the show?" I asked him. He looked a little sad, but he nodded.
"Sure, of course. See you later." he said, then he kissed my cheek and walked away.
I sighed as I turned back to the stage. Looking at a concert from the side view is really awesome. This was the first time I took the time to actually watch someone perform. And it was Rowdy. I watched one of them for awhile, just dancing and singing. He was a good dancer, the best by far. I wasn't sure which one he was though. They all had kind of weird names. This guy just slid across the stage with perfection and hit all those high notes with no trouble at all. I watched the rest of their performance, three songs, and then kinda moved away as they were finishing. They thanked the audience and then ran off the stage with so much energy. As they got closer to me, I moved even further back. I looked away, too.
"Hey, you're Fay, right?" I heard someone ask me, and I turned back around. There he was, the one I was watching, standing right in front of me.
"Uh, yeah..." I replied. "I was watching you out there, you're really talented." I complimented him. Shit, what the hell am I doing? I don't need anymore guys to deal with.
"Really? Thanks... we didn't think you girls liked us... yesterday you wouldn't give us the time of day." he half smiled.
"Oh... the girls think you're kinda stuck up or something." I told him. "And with a name like Rowdy, we just weren't sure what to think about you."
"Oh... well the guys are just really happy to be on this tour, and I guess it's going to our heads a bit. How do you girls manage to not let it get to you?" he asked.
"Well, it's getting to us a bit, too. We just don't show it. Inside, we are all screaming and bragging, but we don't really show it, you know?" I asked him, smiling.
"Yeah, I understand. That's kinda what I'm doing... oh shit, I'm Seth." he said, forgeting to tell me his name.
"Oh, yeah, I knew that. I just couldn't remember." I told him seriously. He grinned.
"So, I saw you with one of your dancers, are you two, together?" he asked. I nodded. "Cool, and are the other girls taken, also?" he asked. I wasn't sure why he was asking, but I decided that he seemed nice enough.
"Well, Dare is... the other three aren't." I replied. "Why?"
"Oh... I was just wondering. Don't worry, none of us would try anything... we're all pretty shy. We were given the name Rowdy a few years back by a close friend of ours. But he past away, last year, so we kept the name, you know... to remember him." he told me. I smiled, sadly. "Plus Mark and Fuller both have steady girls back home." he informed me.
"Cool... um, I think I better go find the girls now, so..." I started, "I hope we can be friends?" I half asked him.
"Yeah, sure, I hope so too." he replied quickly.
"Good, see ya, oh... and tell the other guys we don't hate them, alright?" I laughed.
"Alright, I will. Bye." he smiled and watched me walk away. I looked back and smiled at him, as I was walking away, and accidentally bumped into someone. Thinking it would be just someone who worked backstage, I said,
"Oh, I'm sorry."
But when I looked up, there stood Nick. He looked at me with pain in his eyes, and looked away without a word. He was about to walk away, but I grabbed his arm. He pulled it away.
"Nick, come on, we should talk about this." I whispered.
"No, see, I don't want to talk to you anymore. You hurt me, and now it's over, I'm not worrying about you anymore." he told me. Those words hurt me.
"Nick, please? I didn't want to hurt you." I told him.
"Then why didn't you just tell me you a boyfriend? I wouldn't have cared, we could've been friends." he said sadly. "But, no, you lead me on, thinking you liked me, and then you broke my heart when I seen you kissing him."
"Nick... I wasn't with Fox when I met you, that's why I was flirting with you... I'm so sorry." I told him.
"Fine, I believe you, but why did you get together with him? Me and you would be perfect together." he said cutely, still not looking in my eyes.
"He loves me, and I love him. I always have. I've known him for almost a year now, and we're finally together, and I'm really happy." I told him. Nick managed to smile.
"Well... I'm glad that you're happy. If he ever treats you badly, I'll kick his ass... and he'll always be the guy who took you away from me..." he said, "You're a special girl, Fay, I mean it." he smiled cutely.
"Thanks Nick... I'm really sorry, for everything, forgive me?" I asked. He nodded.
"I'm sorry, too, for being a jerk. I really do wanna be your friend." he told me.
"Good, cuz you already are." I told him. He smiled, and pulled me into a hug.
"Shit, I was supposed to go find the guys like five minutes ago, I better go." he said, pulling away from our hug.
"Alright, I better go too... talk to you later?" I asked.
"Of course. Bye Fay." he finished.
"Bye Nick." I said, still smiling, and then we both walked away, in different directions. I just made two new friends.
