"You were awesome, girls!" Aaron screamed at us as we walked into the make-up room again.
"Thanks Aaron." we replied in unison.
"Yeah, really, you girls did well. Congradulations." Jane told us. And we thanked her, too. "Now, c'mon Aaron, we have to get back to the arena for your soundcheck. We don't want to be late." Jane finished. We knew his soundcheck started at 1pm.
"What are you girls doing?" Aaron asked us, hoping we were going back to the arena with him.
"We have to go out for lunch, and meet up with our dancers again. We'll be back at the arena around 2pm, probably." Joey told him with a smile.
"Ok, see you then." he yelled, and hugged us all. Then we watched him, Jane and Mike leave together.
"I sure hope that Fox isn't mad at me..." I mumbled, but only Dare heard me, and then I whispered to her, "And you better call Kent, now." I said, and passed her my cell. She took it from me, and slipped it into her pocket.
"I'll call him on the bus." she told me.
Then the eight of us went down all the same elevators and flights of stairs that we came up just an hour ago. We went out the same side down, and found our big tour bus already there, waiting for us. Luke was looking out the window, and saw us. He gave a wave. Then we all got onto the bus. The five of us ran to where Luke was sitting, on the couch in the middle section. We were all just about to start yelling about the interview, but he held up his portable radio.
"I heard it, we all did. You were totally awesome." Luke told us, and we all hugged him so hard.
"Thanks... where are your brothers?" Marce asked him.
"Tony is playing Nintendo in the back, and Fox in his bunk, I'm pretty sure." Luke told us.
"Did you guys eat?" Joey asked him.
"No, we just drove around the city, and went into a few stores and stuff. We knew that Jimmy made reservations for lunch, so we waited." he replied.
"Oh ok." Joey finished.
"Lukey, is Foxy mad at me?" I asked him, finally. I really wanted to know, before I went to talk to him.
"Not really mad, but I think he was just upset that you didn't even say bye to him earlier. He's probably over it." Luke said.
"Fuck... well I better go talk to him. See you guys after." I finished, and started walking towards the bunks.
"Yeah, I gotta go make a phone call, see you guys." Dare said and stood up too. She followed behind me and climbed into her bunk.
When I got to Fox's bunk, I heard his TV on, so I knew he was in there. I wasn't sure what to say to him. But I didn't care.
"Fox, can I come in?" I asked him, pretty loudly.
"Whatever, it's your bus." he replied coldly.
I opened the curtain and saw him watch the television. But he wasn't really watching it, I knew him well enough. He was just using that as a distraction. I jumped up and into his bunk, and sat beside him. He didn't speak, so I did,
"Foxy, c'mon, baby, don't be mad at me... I am so sorry."
"I'm not mad, I don't care." he replied. I gave him a sad look.
"Don't lie to me, Fox, I know you better than that. I know you're mad at me for forgetting about you. But I can explain. You know how much this interview meant to us. We were just so excited, that we couldn't think about anything else." I told him.
"Not even your boyfriend?" he asked sadly, still not looking up.
"I'm sorry. I was selfish." I said plainly. I didn't know what else to say to him. He was really stubborn sometimes.
"I heard you guys on the radio." he stated. I almost smiled. "You did awesome, really." he told me cutely.
"Do you forgive me?" I asked him, practically begging.
"If you promise to never forget about me again." he said, finally looking up.
"I promise. I don't know how I ever forgot about you. I love you." I told him.
"I love you too, and I wanted to kiss you so bad, like all day." he replied.
"I'm sorry... but you can kiss me now." I said with a smile. He grinned.
"Good..." he mumbled, and flicked off the TV. Then he leaned in a pressed his lips against mine.
*Same time; in Dare's bunk*
Dare held my cell phone to her ear, as it rang many times. She sighed, and was about to hang up. Suddenly she heard,
"H-hello?" It was him, it was Kent. Dare took a deep breath.
"Kent?" Dare asked, already knowing it was him.
"Hey baby, man, I haven't talk to you in so long. I miss you so much." Kent replied. She sighed again.
"I-I know, yeah... so uh." she said, but stopped. She didn't want to go through with it. She just wanted to forget it happened.
"So how you been? You keeping busy?" he asked her.
"Uh yeah, we just did a radio interview, it was really fun. What about you?" she asked back.
"I've been pretty busy with everything, you know. My dad's ex-wife's daughters are in town, and they are staying with us, and they really keep me on my toes." he laughed. "I miss you so much, I just wish I could see you for a minute."
"I-I miss you too. Uh, how old are the girls that are staying with you?" she asked, thinking. This could all have been one big misunderstanding. Maybe one of those girls answered his cell, and he's just been busy with them.
"The youngest is 14, Marley, and then there's Sarah who's 16 and Renata is 17. They aren't related to us, really, but they lived with my dad a few years ago, so he offered to let them stay with us. It kinda sucks." he said. Shit. Dare thought.
"Oh, well at least your keeping yourself busy, too." Dare replied. She felt really bad for accusing him of cheating, when he wasn't. And she knew that now. But she figured she wouldn't tell him about it.
"Yeah, I guess. It's good to hear your voice. I'm sorry I've been distant the last few times we talked, my dad said I shouldn't use my cell when the girls are here. I'm kinda glad they are leaving next week." he said cutely.
"Oh, that's ok. I guess I've been distant, too. I meant to give you Fay's cell phone number last time we talked... you want it?" she asked.
"Yeah, of course. I want to call you all the time, but I have to wait for you to call me." he laughed.
"Alright, it's 555-6786." she finished. It felt good to talk to him normally again.
"Awesome, thanks baby. Where are you right now?" he asked.
"Atlanta. We're heading to lunch right now, and then back to the arena." she told him with a smile.
"Cool, man, I wish I was with you, right now. Instead of here in boring Jackson." he replied.
"I know, I wish you were here, too. I love you Kenny." she said, making herself sad about being away from him.
"I love you too, D. And I swear, we'll be ok. Shit, um, my brother is calling me, I'm supposed to take the girls shopping soon." he replied, "I better go."
"Yeah, me too. I-I just wanted to hear your voice." she smiled, "I'll call you after the show tonight, alright?"
"Yeah, I can't wait. I love you." he said, "Bye."
"Bye Kenny." Dare finished. Then she waited until he hung up, then she pressed "end" on the cell.
She layed down in her bunk, closed her eyes, and just thought about Kent.
I can't believe I actually thought he would cheat on me. She thought to herself. She felt really that she owed him an apology. But she didn't want to tell him that she thought he was cheating on her. What the hell am I going to do? She asked herself sadly.
