The next morning, we woke up on the bus. Fox and I were alone in the entertainment room, which was odd. I guess everyone else slept actually slept in their own bunks the night before. We knew we were in Canada. We were pumped because it was our first time in Canada, ever. The city was Winnipeg, Manitoba. We also knew we were recording one more song here, in Winnipeg, for the new album. Cher and Joey wrote the lyrics together, with the help of Janeen, the tour's "vocal coach", about four months ago. The song is called Never Wanna Be Alone. It's really good, we've sung it a few times together already, just with the tape. It kinda sucks that we don't get to do a show in Canada until later on in the tour, but it's very awesome that get to record. The rest of the performers have another day off.
"Foxy, come on, let's get up." I whispered to him, knowing he was awake. I checked my watch, and it was just after 6am. When I sat up, I realized we weren't moving anymore. I struggled to get up, out of Fox's grip, and then looked out the window. We were at a gas station.
"No, baby, stay here with me, please?" he begged cutely, like he did every morning.
"Sorry, you know I'd love to stay, but we better go find everyone else." I told him, pulling him up. He smiled.
Then he slipped on a t-shirt and then the two of us stood up and walked to the front of the bus. No one. I figured they were all in the little store outside. We got off the bus and ran to the store. The first person we saw was Joey, who was reading a magazine.
"Joe! Are we in Canada?" I practically yelled to her.
"Yup! It's so exciting!" she replied.
"Awesome, where's everyone else?" I asked.
"They're around. I think Jamal, Jim and Trevor are having something to eat." she finished.
"Thanks..." I said. She smiled as Fox and I walked around the store.
*2 Hours Later*
We were all sitting in this really nice resturant, near the studio where'd we'd be recording. We were eating breakfast/lunch, since we'd be in the studio from 9am to 2pm. Recording was alot of fun, except we weren't allowed to fool around at all. We really have to be serious in the studio. We didn't mind, though. Fox, Tony and Luke were going to be hanging out with the rest of the gang for the day. They were planning to go to a water park. I mean, sure, we would've liked to go with them, but we still didn't mind. Now it was barely 8am, we had half an hour to get to the studio to set up. We were so excited.
"Fay, do you wanna go, be alone, for awhile? We won't see each other much today." Fox whispered in my ear. I nodded.
"Alright, everyone, we're going to go hang out on the bus for awhile, ok?" I asked the gang. They all nodded.
"We know you won't see each other today, go, have fun." Jimmy laughed at us, pushing Fox up. We both stood up and said 'bye' to everyone.
Then the two of us walked back to the bus in the parking lot.
*9am; Recording Studio*
"C'mon Dare, get off the phone!"
The four of us stood around Dare, who held my cell phone to her ear. She used it more than I did. She was talking to Kent, and we were waiting for her, so we could start recording.
"Alright... Kenny, I better go, I'll call you later." she finished, "I love you."
Then she shut the phone and gave it back to me. Then the five of us went into the recording section, to read over the lyrics a few more times. Jamal and Trevor sat in the editing booth together, and Jimmy came in the room with us. We knew what to do, but we hadn't recorded in about a month, so we wanted Jimmy in there with us. We were recording Never Wanna Be Alone. We loved that song alot. We knew the lyrics, but we weren't really positive about the music. So we put on the headphones and heard the music a few times through.
"Girls, you ready to start?" a voice asked, through an intercom. We looked through the glass and saw Jamal looking at us. We just nodded together.
A minute later we all heard the music playing in our ears. We all knew exactly when to start. All together, we sung,
"Never wanna... never wanna be alone."
Then Dare started the song with the first verse. She closed her eyes and sung with so much passion and love, exactly how she always sung.
"Boy you know I want see you every second, every day. And you know just how I feel but do you feel the same way?"
Then I took over, knowing exactly what to sing. The lyrics were in front of each of us, but we didn't need them.
"Do you want to be around me or just talking on the phone? Cuz I will tell you right now I don't wanna be alone."
Then Jimmy stopped us, after Trevor gave him a signal to stop.
"Girls, Dare, Fay, that was awesome! We'll get the five of you in here in a few minutes to help us add the sound effects and make your voices sound virtual at the beginning." Trevor told us. We were all beaming.
"Yeah, keep up the great work... alright, you can do the chorus when you hear the music again." Jamal agreed.
We were quiet for almost another minute, until we heard the music again. Then we all sung the chorus in unison.
"I will tell you right now, I don't gotta think twice, being with you makes me feel so nice. I will tell you again, when I'm sitting at home, I never wanna be alone."
Then we all paused, hearing the music continuing to play. We were all grinning. Yes, we were very proud of ourselves that we made it this far.
"Ok girls, ya'll can come in here with us for the playback." Jamal told us through the intercom again.
We excitedly took off the headphones and ran into the other room, with Jamal and Trevor. We listened to the play back of what we'd sung so far. Not to sound concieded, but I know we sounded good. And Jamal, Jimmy and Trevor kept telling us we were so awesome. I guess we were getting a bit full of ourselves by the end of that day. We did that whole song, and got it all finished. I mean, everything. We heard the final play back at exactly 1:45pm. Perfect timing, huh?
"Man, girls... I think this was your best recording session ever!" Jimmy screamed, as we all hugged each other.
"Yeah... you girls were awesome!" Jamal agreed, and Trevor nodded.
"So, that's seven tracks recorded now?" I asked the guys. Trevor looked over his sheet, nodding.
"Yup, seven. Our next session is in Los Angeles, on Wednesday June 17th." he replied.
"Wow, that's like five days!" Joey yelled. I knew she loved the studio alot. "I'm so glad we're going to finish up the album soon, and then get it out in stores! I just can't wait!" she finished. We all nodded.
"Alright, so... we better get out of here before 2pm... where do you wanna go?" Jamal asked us. We all looked at each other, questioning.
"Well, where are the guys, and everyone else?" Cher wondered out loud.
"They were heading to the water parks downtown... but they might not be there still. Do you want to go check?" Jimmy asked us.
"Sure... I mean, I'd love to see the Backstreet Boys with no shirts!" Marce totally joked. Dare and Joey laughed at her, but they noticed that Cher and I weren't laughing.
"Keep in mind, one of them is Cher's boyfriend!" Joey giggled. Cher nodded, and looked away.
I just cleared my throat. Why the hell was I still thinking about Nick, like, all the time. Of course I wanted to see him without a shirt on. But what about Fox?
"Alright, let's get out of here, then!" Jamal smiled, getting up. He grabbed the tape of our song, we packed up everything we had brought with us, and then the eight of us left the large recording studio happily.
We drove to the water park, in the tour bus, and got there just after 2pm. We got off the bus and started walking around, looking for them. We noticed a small group of teenage girls gathered together, so we guessed that was where they were. We walked over and saw Nick and Aaron meeting a group of fans. Aaron hugged us and introduced us to the girls, who didn't really care about us. They only cared that a Backstreet Boys and Aaron Carter were there.
