Chapter Forty-Three:
Late At Night

*The Next Morning*

We woke up the next morning in the bus, like always. I was alone in my bunk. The party last night was so wicked. We were there until about midnight, I think. We stayed until the very end, after everyone else was gone. Nick wouldn't let us leave. All the BSB were staying over night at the Carter's. We drove our bus to a motel parking lot for the night. We started driving around 5am, while we were all still asleep.

Now it's Wednesday June 17th, and we're in Los Angelas, California. I sat up in my bunk happily. I really wanted to see Fox. He and his brothers, and Trevor, Jamal and Jimmy were on the bus when it picked us up from The Carter's at midnight. But I didn't really have a chance to see him because Luke told me that he and Tony were already sleeping, so I didn't bother him. But now I was anxious to see him. I jumped down out of my bunk and ran to his.

"Fox, you in there?" I asked him loudly. I knew it was early, about 6:30am, but I really wanted to see him. I got no answer. "Fox?" I practically yelled.

"Huh? What?" I heard a quiet voice ask back. I opened the curtain quickly.

"Fox, can I come in?" I asked him.

"Fay? Oh yeah, sure." he replied.

I leaped into the bunk and sat on his stomach, facing him. Believe me, he was strong enough to handle it. He was shocked.

"What's the matter?" he asked right away.

"Nothing, I just wanted to see you so bad." I told him, which made him grin. But he didn't say a word. "Did you have fun last night, with the guys?" I asked him. He nodded.

"Yeah, it was fun. It would've been better if I was with you." he replied.

"We don't have to be together every night, you know?" I asked him.

"Sure we do." he replied cutely. "What are you doing today?"

"Ahhhh!" I practically yelled again, thinking about today. "We have to be in the recording studio at 10am." I told him. I was so excited we were going to record another song.

"Seriously? Till when?" he asked sadly. There's another day away from my boyfriend.

"I think 4pm." I replied plainly. I hated that look he gave me. He wanted to be with me today, and he couldn't.

"Man, that really sucks. Let me guess, after that, we'll be spending another four hours backstage before the show?" he asked, knowing he was right. I just nodded. "You know, I thought this crazy life, touring, and everything, would be fun, and exciting, but all we really do is sit backstage." he half-smiled. I knew he was just upset that I had to record again today.

"You don't mean that. You know that you love dancing... and you love me." I smiled. He nodded.

"That's true. I love you, baby." he agreed with me.

"I love you too. Now we have about two hours before we have to get to the studio, what do you want to do?" I asked him. He shrugged.

"Hey... did you tell the girls that we... you know, had sex?" he whispered. I covered my mouth.

"No... shit, I didn't even mention it to them. Did you tell your brothers?" I asked. He nodded slightly.

"Well, I didn't tell them, but they could tell. I guess guys always know when their friends, or brothers, have had sex." Fox laughed. I nodded.

"So, do you think they'll tell the girls?" I asked.

"No, I don't think so." Fox replied.

I didn't feel like talking anymore. I layed my body down on his and began kissing his face all over. He was surprised by this at first, but took a deep breath and started kissing me back.

*2 Hours Later*

"Bye baby, I'll miss you." Fox whispered in my ear. I knew I had to get off the bus, now. The girls and Jimmy and Jamal were waiting in the limo. Trevor was sticking around with the guys today.

"I love you... I'll see ya at 4pm, at the venue." I told him. He nodded.

"Fay, GO!" Trevor screamed, practically pulling me out of Fox's arms. I let go of Fox and blew him a kiss, as I jumped off the big bus.

We got to the studio about ten minutes later. We were all so pumped again. All the instruments were already recorded for the song, except one bass guitar, which Jamal was playing. He was so pumped too. This was the only song he got to play on, that would be on our album. The song is called Late At Night. It is really funky, and has a up-tempo beat. The song was written by a good friend, Theresa McNeil, who was one of our first vocal coaches. She wrote it recently and sent it to us, hoping we'd like it and record it. Well, we fell in love with it. It's awesome. It's about a girl who's got an awesome boyfriend, and she always wants to be with him. But the only time she gets to see him is at night. Woah, sound familar? I think so. And Jamal is finally playing for us.

From when we got there, until about 11am, Jamal did his part to the song, and we put that all together. It was alot of fun. Then we started on the vocals. We knew how powerful Joey's voice was. And this song had to be powerful. So we decided awhile ago, that she would have lead on this song. We got set up and ready, and then Jimmy directed us when to start and stop.

"Alright, Joe, you know when to come in, we're doing it for real this time." Jamal told her, and she nodded. She was ready, very ready.

We all heard the beginning music playing in our headphones. It was awesome music, for about four seconds, I think. Then Joey started,

"It bothers me, so much, that I can't feel, your touch. Every second, you're on my mind, you're loving words, that are so kind. I don't think that, I can wait, pretty soon, it'll be too late."

She did it perfect. I mean, she didn't make one mistake. I can't believe her. Well, I can, just because she's Joey. When he stopped, we all looked at her, shocked.

"What, it wasn't that bad, was it?" she asked cutely.

"Joey!" Jimmy screamed from other room, "It was perfect!"

"Oh, ok, well I'm just trying to save time, you know, so we don't have to go over it again." she giggled. All she did was the best she could, which just happened to be perfect.

Next the five of us sang the chorus. Joey had the echo to it. It went like this,

"Tonight (tonight), I'm gonna be with you. Real late (at night), baby what will we do? You'll hold (me tight) all through (the night). What do you want to do? Real late... real late at night."

Then Dare went on to sing the next verse herself. Then we broke up and each did little lines near the end ourselves. I could feel that this was going to be a really good song. After we were finished that, we all went into the other room and waited as Jimmy and Jamal produced it. They added a few sound things, with our approval. We love how they won't do anything without our ok.

We were finished the whole thing by about 3:30pm. We listened to it over and over. We loved hearing it, alot. It was really good. We were really proud of it, even though we're really proud of everything we did. Now we had eight songs completed for the new album. We still had about fifteen minutes before we had to leave, so we kinda fooled around a bit, and just had fun. The whole four and a half hours in the studio went by so fast.

At ten to 4pm, we left and got into the awaiting limo. By now, limos were regular, every day things. They weren't as fun as they used to be. We arrived at the venue just after 4pm. I went and found Fox right away. We went into our dressing room area alone.

"I love you baby." he told me again.

"I know. I love you too." I told him. "We recorded Late At Night today! That's our song, baby." I told him, almost whispering. He nodded. I'd been singing it to him alot these past few days.

"That's awesome, baby. Is the album almost done?" he asked.

"Yes. We have eight out of twelve songs done. That's four more, and we're doing one more in Santa Fe." I told him, grinning.

"You look so happy right now." he told me.

"I am happy. Very happy. I'm happy with the album, and with my girls, and with my friends... and most of all, you!" I told him, and kissed his lips once, then pulled back.

"So... Fay, are we gonna, you know, again?" he asked. He was acting so cute about it. Even though we hadn't really talked about it much.

"Not right away... but yeah... of course. You liked it, huh?" I asked jokingly.

"Of course I did. It was... awesome. I can't even describe how it felt." he smiled.

"I know, I feel the same. I loved it." I told him. He just nodded. I took a deep breath and asked him, "So, Foxy, what do you want to do... late at night?"

He grinned, knowing I was referring to the song. His responce was simple. He leaned in really close and placed his soft lips on mine.
