Robert Hargrove was born November 21, 1977 in Anderson, SC. He now resides with his mother and father in Spartanburg, SC. Robert will graduate this coming December from Anderson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education! Robert likes backpacking, basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, and playing guitar and piano. He had five goldfish once: Frog, Callie, Cleotis, Tootsie, and Shaneequa, but our cat Bela eventually made a meal out of each of them. Robert said he was "first compelled to pick up the guitar after a week of summer camp seven years ago at Lake Junaluska in NC. Chris Hughes was the worship leader there, and after he taught me 'Shine Jesus Shine' and 'Light the Fire,' I was convinced that the Lord was leading me into music ministry. Early on, I was influenced greatly by Steven Curtis Chapman, Edwin McCain, James Taylor, and Dave Matthews. Lately though, as I continue to compose Christian music, I've found myself under the influence of individuals and bands like: Caedmon's Call, Jars of Clay, Burlap to Cashmere, Bebo Norman, Chris Rice, Rich Mullins, and Vertical Horizon." Robert's favorite scripture is Philipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Robert says, "My parents Bob and Jan Hargrove, and my sister Amissa Greer continually support and encourage me in all areas of my life. All of my close friends are brothers and sisters to me in Christ, and my girlfriend Grace is my best friend. I am extremely fortunate to have three Godly men, Lee, Jason, and Paul in my life as my friends and accountability partners. God has blessed me with a loving family, an incredible girlfriend, and 'Jude's Remedy' as an outlet of praise through our collective gifts in music."
