Recordings:1996
Note: The list is in ascending order

10. She Loved Me Once - acoustic version (Crosbie)

Crosbie: Vocal, acoustic guitar, percussion
Recorded 20th September 1996, Sonic Studio, Dublin
Produced by: Al Stone
Appears on: unreleased

A straight forward demo recording of this early song, this also features some tambourine to liven things up. These acoustic songs from this session are very well performed, and interesting to listen to, when compared with earlier and later material. Written in 1993.

9. Above All - acoustic version (Crosbie)

Crosbie: Vocal, acoustic guitars
Recorded 20th September 1996, Sonic Studio, Dublin
Produced by: Al Stone
Appears on: unreleased

More a demo of a track than any attempt to record a finished version, "Above All" is the track that opens "Chasing The Sun" and is an upbeat, cheerful song, with somewhat morose lyrics. Written in 1994.

8. Sunday Afternoon (Fallen In Love) - acoustic version (Crosbie)

Crosbie: Vocal, acoustic guitars
Recorded 20th September 1996, Sonic Studio, Dublin
Produced by: Al Stone
Appears on: "Above All" / B-Side

Another great acoustic version, this folky song is another favourite. Written in 1995.

7. I Know Who I Am (Crosbie)

Crosbie: Vocal, acoustic guitars
Recorded 20th September 1996, Sonic Studio, Dublin
Produced by: Al Stone
Appears on: "Lotus" LP

An inspired recording of a beautiful song. Possibly the best song on "Lotus", and one of the best of all, this simple song was recorded in only one take (with overdubs). This is one of the earliest of all Lotus songs, written in 1992.

6. Don't Want You To Change - acoustic version (Crosbie)

Crosbie: Vocal, acoustic guitar
Recorded 20th September 1996, Sonic Studio, Dublin
Produced by: Al Stone
Appears on: unreleased

A touching version of the "Lotus" track, this song could be said to be as good as the later album version. Written in 1996.

5. Never Been Like This Before - acoustic version (Crosbie)

Crosbie: Vocal, acoustic guitars, harmony vocal
Recorded 20th September 1996, Sonic Studio, Dublin
Produced by: Al Stone
Appears on: "What Does It Matter?" / B-Side

The first track recorded in a night's session in Sonic studios, these songs feature Robert on guitar. Robert's songs are definitely becoming stronger at this stage. This track is an old favourite of Robert's, and for a while his signature tune. This acoustic version is joyous. Written in 1994.
