(Autumn 2003) Experimenting: If you paint a cd with pink spray-paint, what happens? Does the cd melt or will it look heavenly? :)
(Summer-autumn 2003) Some new recordings with a Minidisc multitrack recorder. Results can be found in the audio section. Also planning to move the home pages somewhere else, since Angelfire has ruined our lay-out with ads. Pop-ups are bad enough, but these... aargh.
(Spring 2003) Managed to get a new bass player! Mikki saw us at Muusikoiden.net and found himself fitting the criteria ("We're not too good, so if you're a bassist lousy enough then phone or mail us!"). An image of our Warwick-lover can be found here (in finnish only, sorry).
(February 15th 2003) Finally, the first ever Pestida gig! We played at this University Law Department party,
about 100 people were there. Since even now we hadn't managed to get a regular bassist, we
had to borrow Antti, the guy who was playing with us for a while maybe 6 years ago. There
wasn't too much time to practise because we got the gig just 2 weeks ago, so with Antti we
rehearsed just 3 times before going on stage... So anyway, it went ok (being our first
ever gig and everything) kinda sloppily because of lack of practice, but the main point
was, in any case, to get the "first time" over with... Here are some photos from the gig.
(April 20th & 21st 2002) Pestida in the radio! Our
Greek 'accomplice' Roxanne sent Pestida's 4 song CD to a demo competition held by RockFM,
the largest rock radio in Greece. Major Tom, a DJ who is organizing the competition got
interested in our demo and played "Shrapnel" on two occasions in his show.
Thanks Major Tom! :) The results of the competition have not arrived yet, but we will keep
you informed. Major Tom's show can also be heard live via internet at the RockFM site: www.rockfm.gr Check it
out!
(Dec 2001 - Jan 2002) Quite a lot of just playing to find
the right feeling, trying out several bass players, but no one has really sounded right
yet...
(Nov. 2nd 2001) Finally managed to rent a practise space
from Helsinki, it's in sort of an industrial area so we can make as much noise we want, at
any time we want...
(August - October 2001) A longish hassle with trying to
recruit a bass player who, as it turned out in the end, lived too far to travel to
Helsinki often enough for practise. In any case at the end of October convinced Juuso to
come and play drums because Tero is currently unavailable (in the army).
(April - May 2001) Problems with dowloading mp3s from the
audio section have been solved though... and clips of all the four songs on the demo CD
have been added...
