Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, Inc. operates primarily as a student service and leadership recognition society. Founded in 1946, the sorority provides service to collegiate bands, encourages the advancement of women in the band profession, and promotes and enriches an appreciation of band music through recognition, leadership development, and education of its members. There are currently over 216 chapters nationwide of Tau Beta Sigma. The honorary nature of membership is based on this premise, “It is an honor to be selected to serve.” Epsilon Rho is the 137th chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. The chapter was chartered
February 1, 1975, on the campus of Virginia State College and re-chartered
July 8, 2000 on the campus of Virginia State University. Working daily
to ensure the success of the bands and performing ensembles, Epsilon Rho
has a work ethic and sisterhood like none other. Here you will find skilled
musicians and dedicated band members who share a love of music and a passion
for service.
