Some say Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest bands of all-time! I myself agree with this statement whole-heartedly.
The fact that they have very many famous songs in the rock category of music is not surprising. Their unique feel for music (whether it be blues, light and heavier rock, folk, acoustic, instrumental, etc.) was always spot on. They were able to do what no band has ever done before their time, and that was to bring rock 'n' roll to a new climax.
The talent that the band has is a definite knowledgable fact. They also had logos for themselves as individuals (see below animations). Robert Plant is the voice behind the band, making the mood of the songs appeal to almost anyone instantaneous. Jimmy Page is the unofficial leader of the band, wailing out guitar riffs and leads that are either so heavy it will leave you wanting more or so graceful it can leave you breathless. John Paul Jones is the grooving bass player that also plays piano, keyboards, and other instruments. And finally, my ultimate favourite drummer of all-time, John Bonham who not only shattered the way drumming was done before him, but set a new standard on what talent as a drummer means.
Led Zeppelin formed as a band in 1968, releasing their first album in 1969. They disbanded a few months after John Bonham's tragic death in 1980, making their total number of albums 9 (plus 1 soundtrack). In the end, their biggest album was "IV," and their biggest song was also arguably the biggest rock song (not to mention the biggest song, period) of all-time, titled "Stairway to Heaven."
Ever since I first heard Led Zeppelin, I fell in love with their sound instantly! I must say that I am truly thankful for my friend Ray, who first introduced me to such a talented and marvelous band!
