BOOKING SHOWS

-Email me at Mark@RockChicagoRecords.com . I’ll need to know the name of your band, website & mp3 addy’s. Also need to know what kind of music you play.

- You can either come to me with a show in mind you want to host or just ask to be put on a show. If you have a show in mind, no more than five bands and four of those bands must be able to bring in a decent draw, say 20+ people. If you need help choosing bands to play your show, let me know. I know plenty and many of them are always looking for shows. I like to bring in out-of-area bands to keep things interesting and give those bands new places to play and they in turn, will give you a show by them. Hopefully.

-A good, basic formula I like to use in booking shows is have two local high school bands open, two bigger bands who draw well to headline and one ‘wild card’ band that doesn’t have to draw. They can be a new band with no fan base yet, a band from out of the area or a band that’s been around a while but somehow hasn’t developed a decent following yet. I WILL strongly encourage you to use local bands in your show for draw. At least one. From Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Roselle, Arlington Heights, etc. Unofficially, this is their venue more than anyone else’s and we want to make sure the locals aren’t squeezed out by bands from out-of-the-area.

-If you’re setting up a show, you are partially responsible for what happens at that show. That means booking bands that respect the property, other bands and park district employees. It means making sure they know they have to keep their show clean…no vulgar or sexually oriented language/lyrics, swearing in songs kept to a minimum. It means having bands read thru all the rules on this website and having them email me, stating that they have read, understand and will abide by the rules. This is necessary because of a couple bands who decided to use bad language in their songs, after the park district trusted that they would not. No emailed agreement to me, no play. You are responsible for letting park district employees know of things going on during your show that shouldn’t be going on…vandalism, alcohol or drugs on the property, etc. You are also responsible for helping clean up when the show is over, inside the teen center and outside as well.
