You don't find an inn, however, and it looks like there may not be one until you reach Gerriton. You haven't gone too much farther when you are waylaid by a group of people.
They beat you up, and steal the map and sword from you. However, they do leave you alive, and don't take the small amount of money you have with you. You aren't too upset about the map, because you've memorized every detail of it anyway.
You limp on your way to Gerriton, and manage to make it there okay.
