Chapter 11

One week later-

Brian had called me the other night and told me we were going to meet his friends at a restaurant called “Amour”. It was a fancy French restaurant uptown.
I had one hour to go until Brian was going to pick me up. I had no idea what I was going to wear, my hair was a chaotic mess and I hadn’t even touched my make up.
I was close to screaming my head off. Everything I tried on wasn’t working out. There was a problem with each of my dresses. Either they are too fancy, like my bridesmaid gown for Gina’s wedding, or they were too informal like my sundresses. I finally picked out a sky blue dress which reached my ankles. It was semi-formal but when I added a silver and diamond necklace, it made it look more formal. I fixed my hair and did my makeup.
When I finished, the doorbell rang and Brian was there. When he saw me his eyes lit up. “You look breathtaking” he said to me.
I blushed, “Thanks”. I slipped on my white strap sandals and we left.

The restaurant-
Brian and I walked into the restaurant. My stomach was full of butterflies. I guess my face showed how nervous I was because Brian looked over at me, smiled then reached for my hand. "Don't worry, I will be by your side the whole time." he said whispering in my ear. His warm breath traveled down my neck. It gave me the chills.
We reached the table with two other men sitting in it, one with blonde hair and another with dark brown hair. When we came up, they both stood up from their chairs.
“Hi, I’m Nick” the blonde one said as he shook my hand.
“I’m Cindy” I told him.
“My name is Kevin” The tall dark haired man said. “It’s so nice to finally meet you. We have heard so much about you from Brian.” I smiled at him then sat down.
“Kevin is not only my friend, but my close cousin. We hang out a lot together.” Brian informed me and Kevin gave him a glare that I couldn’t quite comprehend. I made a mental note to ask Brian later why he was glaring, for now I tried to ignore the glances.
“Where are the other two?” Brian asked Nick and Kevin.
“Howie couldn’t find his wallet.” Nick said playing with his fork.
“Maybe because you hid it from him.” Kevin told Nick
“That was a joke I played on him a week ago. I gave him his wallet back, but I swear it wasn’t me who took it again.”
Brian and I laughed. I started to feel more comfortable around his friends. Maybe this night wouldn’t be as bad as I thought it would be.
