LAVENDOR TOWN WALKTHROUGH!

Hi! Lavendor Town is a small town. There is a pokemon tower there. In it, lives the ghost pokemon. You can't capture pokemon in there yet because you need the Silph Scope to reveal the ghosts' identity. You'll get that when you go to Celadon City. However, there is one hosue very important in this town and it is the house of the Name-Rater. Here, you can get your pokemons' names evaluated and changed to another name if you want. You cannot change the name of a traded pokemon, though. In the pokemart, you can finally buy revive. Revive costs 1500 dollars and can bring your fainted pokemon back to life. You can also buy Super Potion and Great ball. There is nothing of importance here now. Now, go to Celadon City. There are lots of trainers on the route to Celadon. In the middle is a patch of grass. You need cut to get through to here. There are only three pokemon here: Pidgey, Mankey, and Growlithe. You can catch higher levels in Celadon. Beat the numerous trainers on the way left and go to the north building. You will go to another underground path. Use the itemfinder in here and you will find a nugget. If you sell a nugget, you will get 5000 dollars! Now go into Celadon City! Go get the Silph Scope in Celadon City before you capture pokemon in the Pokemon Tower! Now that you have the Silph Scope, go to the Pokemon Tower. All pokemon inside including the trainers' pokemon are all ghost typed. Bring some psychic pokemon such as Kadabra and Hpyno. Normal attacks such as Tackle and Hyper Fang can not affect Ghost pokemon. Only elemental attacks such as fire, water, ice, and so on can affect ghost pokemon. Do not use grass attacks against ghost pokemon. Once you go in, go up the flight of stairs. You will fight Gary again. He, as usual, starts with a Pidgeotto. I forgot what level. He also uses a Hypno, or Kadabra. He uses a Raticate, I think. His last pokemon is his starting pokemon. This is the last time you will be fighting Gary before you fight him when you beat the game.

After you beat Gary, talk to the people there. They are all Channelers. These people are being held by an evil spirit. Fight the evil spirit, which is Gastly. You will be fighting lots of these evil spirits, Gastly. Two of the evil spirits are Haunter. You can also fight wild Gastlys and wild Haunters. Wild Gastlys are more common. On the third last floor is a "Pokemon Center". There is a small area where, when you step into it, your pokemon are fully healed. Capture some wild ghost pokemon. Haunter is the evolved form of Gastly. You cannot fight Gengar, the final evolved form. You can only get Gengar if you trade Haunter to a friend and trade it back.

In the second last floor, at the bottom middle, is a flight of stairs. Put a psychic pokemon in front. You will fight Marowak, the mother and evolved form of Cubone.

You cannot capture Marowak. You have to make it faint. When you make it faint, it will stop haunting the tower and rest in peace. Go up the stairs and you will go to a hallway type of place. There are some team rocket members there. Beat them. You can also fight wild pokemon in this hallway, including Cubone. You can capture a level 28 Haunter, a level 24 Cubone, and a level 24 Gastly, very high levels. When you have captured these pokemon, talk to Mr. Fuji, at the top of the pokemon tower.

Mr. Fuji will bring you to his home, down in Lavender Town. He will give you a Poke Flute. The Poke Flute will wake up any sleeping pokemon such as Snorlax. It also acts as the item, Awakening. In battle, if your pokemon are asleep, use the Pokeflute and they will be awakened. This is very useful, free, and can be used over and over again.

Once you have gotten the Pokeflute, fly back to Celadon City, and capture Snorlax.
