Hi! To get to the Abandoned Power Plant, fly to Cerulean City. Cut to the right and go to the area with the Pokecenter located right before the Rock Tunnel. Go up to the small river. Surf along the river, go down and left. Go onto the dry land and you will fight one trainer. Beat him and the power plant is right in front of you.
The Power Plant has electric pokemon and Zapdos, the legendary electric bird pokemon. There are three legendary bird pokemon: Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. Zapdos is found in the power plant, Articuno is found in Seafoam Island, and Moltres is found on Victory Road. The electric pokemon found in the Power Plant are: Pikachu, Raichu (blue), Electabuzz (red), Voltorb, Magnetmite, and Magneton. Pikachu evolves into Raichu using the thunder stone. Pikachu, Voltorb, and Magnemite are all level 21 - 24. Raichu, Electabuzz, and Magneton are found at level 33 - 37.
There are several pokeballs in the Power Plant. Some are items and some are Voltorbs. Two are Electrodes, the evolved form. Voltorbs are fought at level 40 and Electrodes are fought at level 43. Be careful when fighting or capturing Electrodes because they will usually use Self Destruct, a move that kills themselves and damages your HP. Try putting them to sleep before weakening them.
You can gain levels for your pokemon very quickly here because the experience points range from 250 to 850. This is an excellent place to gain levels for ground pokemon such as Dugtrio and Marowak. Do not use a flying or water pokemon to fight the wild pokemon. For some reason, Voltorb does not have an electric attack such as Thundershock.
Go to the very right and then up. Go left. You will see a bird standing in the middle of a large area. Save first. That is Zapdos.
Zapdos is level 50. It has Thundershock and Drill Peck. Use a pokemon with Leech Seed first and use this attack. Use a ground pokemon such as Dugtrio to weaken it first. Since electric attacks can not hurt Dugtrio, it should be fine. However, Drill Peck is a flying attack and can hurt Dugtrio a lot. Do not use Dig since it will not affect Zapdos. Use Dugtrio's Slash attack. Then send out your Cubone or Marowak. Use Boomerang to weaken Zapdos. WHen it is running very low on HP, send out your Hypno and use Hypnosis. Throw out an Ultra Ball and it should be yours. Do not use Master Ball.
