Hi! To get to Cinnabar Island, go to Pallet Town and surf down. You will past some fishermen on the way. Also, right below Pallet Town is a patch of grass you can surf to. There, you can fight Tangela and Pidgeotto.
Keep surfing down until you reach Cinnabar Island. Cinnabar Island has a Pokecenter, Pokemart, Abandoned Mansion, Gym, and its well known, Cinnabar Lab Research. The Cinnabar Lab Research is located at the bottom left corner of the island.
Remember the Dome/Helix Fossil you got in Mt. Moon. You can resurrect them in this lab. In the lab building are three rooms. The first two have people who wants to trade pokemon to you. Most of these pokemon can be captured by you. Go to the room on the very right. In there, a scientist will resurrect your pokemon for you. Once you give your fossil to him, he will tell you to take a walk while he resurrects the fossil. Just go outside, take a walk around the island, and come back in. Remember, Dome Fossil will give you Kabuto and Helix Fossil will give you Omanyte. Both pokemon evolve into their final form at level 40: Kabutops and Omastar.
You can also resurrect the Old Amber, the fossil you got in Pewter City. You get this fossil by going to the museum through the back door. Cut through and go in the back door. There, a scientist will give you the Old Amber, and ask you to resurrect it on Cinnabar Island. This fossil will give you Aerodactyl, a prehistoric flying pokemon.
Now go to the Cinnabar Abandoned Mansion. It is located at the top left corner of the island. There are several pokemon found in this mansion. You can find Ponyta, Growlithe, Koffing, Weezing, Grimer, and Muk. Ponyta is a fire horse pokemon. You can catch it at level 36. It evolves to Rapidash at level 40. Growlithe is also a fire pokemon. It evolves into Arcanine using the fire stone. Arcanine is one of the legendary pokemon. Koffing is a poison pokemon. It evolves into Weezing at level 38. You can catch Weezing at level 43. Grimer is also a poision pokemon and evolves to Muk at level 38. You can catch Muk also at level 43. In the blue version, you can catch Magmar there, the fire breathing pokemon.
There are two robbers in the mansion. They will, of course, fight you. There are also some reports concerning Mewtwo and Mew. Beat the mansion. Follow the maps below. Descriptions are right below each picture. There are switches in the statues which can open doors. Remember, once you open one door, another door closes. Remember which doors you open.
Go back down the flight of stairs and go to the very right exit. You can now fight Blaine's gym if you want.
Blaine and his trainers all use fire pokemon. Use your Blastoise and the water pokemon you caught in Seafoam Islands. Beside each trainer is an object that looks like a mailbox with two holes. If you do not want to fight the trainers, press A on all these boxes and you'll be asked some questions. If you answer them correctly, you will not have to fight the trainers to get to Blaine. I do not recommend this because this gym is so easy if you have water pokemon.
Blaine uses four pokemon: Growlithe level 42, Ponyta level 40, Rapidash level 42, and finally, Arcanine level 47. Use Hydro Pump, Surf, and Bubblebeam and they should faint in a second.
When you beat Blaine, he will give you the Volcano Badge and TM 38, Fire Blast. Fire Blast is a very very powerful fire attack. Teach it to Charizard, if you have one. Volcano Badge raises all your pokemons' special. Now that you have all seven badges, fight the eighth gym in Viridian City. It used to be close but is now open again. If you have not beaten Sabrina's gym in Saffron City and obtained the Marsh Badge, do so now.
Surf to the right of Cinnabar Island and fight the trainers there. They should all use water pokemon. If you have done everything, fly to Viridian City to fight the gym. Remember to get two of the legendary pokemon at the power plant and Seafoam Islands.
