"Josh! Josh, stop it! I'm running out of air,I swear I'll get my revenge on you someday" Becca gasped as Josh finally stopped tickling her.
Josh just couldn't stop laughing. He turned of the CD player. "Listen, Becca I have something really important to tell you" Josh's facial expression turned from laughing to dead serious. "Becca, I'm moving" Josh finally said. He got quiet waiting for a response.
"No Josh, your moving? What am I gonna do without you?"
"You're gonna be a huge piano star I promise" Becca refused to believe him and that's when the tears started to cascade. "Besides Chris is a really great guy, trust me you can always turn to him, I love you Becca"
"Josh you have to promise you'll write me everyday," Becca couldn't believe him she refused to. Her long time boyfriend could not be moving.
I screamed as I woke up from my nightmare. The endings are always the same...I can't get him to stay, thought Becca. Just forget about him, he obviously didn't care enough about me to keep contact with me.
Orlando, Florida 1999
"Becca! Phone!" Becca Waterson's roommate, Abby, said.
Becca was a major at a music school, and was practicing, so it wasn't that surprising to Abby, when Becca didn't answer the phone.
"All right I got it thanks Abby!!!!" Becca replied.
"Can you give me some time to think about it?" was the only part Abby could hear. Becca came into the room like she had seen a ghost.
"Becca, your scaring me, tell me what happened? Was it Jeff again?" Becca just shook her head. Becca told Abby calmly what had just happened.
"Someone by the name of Mr. Pearlman of Transcon records just called me. It seems that he needs a pianist. Now. He said he talked to my professors and it's all clear for me to go on tour with some band by the name of NSYNC"
Abby's mouth dropped open. Abby, managed to choke out a question for Becca.
"When do you leave?"
"I have to call him back, I don't know if I want to go yet."
Well,Abby being as persistent as she is wasn't going to Becca miss the chance of a lifetime. She made sure Becca called Mr. Pearlman back as soon as possible. She scheduled a meeting with Lou tomorrow afternoon.
*Chris, JC, and Justin's house*
"Rinnngggg...rinnnngggg.." Someone's cell phone rang. The guys were watching Star Wars so they really didn't care until Jon, Justin's little brother, asked who's it was. JC was not paying attention, just staring blankly at the screen. Everything reminded him of his ex-girlfriend, Alex. After the guys told JC his phone was ringing he finally declared the ringing cell phone his. He went to the kitchen to answer it.
"Hello?" He asked impatiently. "JC? Is that you?" asked a familiar voice.
"Oh hey Lou, what's up?" JC nervously. He hated it, when Lou justcalled his cell phone.
"Well, I was wondering if you could do me a favor?" Lou asked sweetly.
"Sure thing, what is it?" he asked more comfortably. He sat down onthe bar stool, not knowing how important this day would be.
Becca was a talented pianist, but a horrible morning person. Nothing could keep her from partying all night...except for waking up the next morning, that is.
"Wake up, sleepyhead, or your gonna be late" Abby taunted. She decided this was as good a time as any to start a new habit of waking up early. After all going on tour was going to be very busy and lots of waking up early. She wasn't supposed to be at the studio until 11:00, it was only 8:30, so she had plenty of time to hop in the shower and gather all of her piano books.
She heard a song Abby was playing on the radio. She hummed along, even danced until the song ended. Now that is a good boyband,no, no, no, you have to get practicing, now is a good time to get warmed up,Becca. She thought to herself.
Becca found it well after 10:30. Since Transcon wasn't more than 10 minutes away she left for her new job. Hopefully a long lasting job.
"Here we go" Becca mumbled under her breath. She couldn't help but to get lost. She finally made her way up to the studio.
She stopped at the front desk, "Hello, my name is Becca Waterson, I'm here to see Mr. Pearlaman The secretary just smiled and said," ahh Miss Waterson, 3rd door onyour left, he's expecting you" Now Becca was never the 1 to get nervous before a huge recital or something, but this scared the life out of her, until she met Lou.
"Ahhh, Miss Waterson, nice to finally meet you, well I had a meeting scheduled with JC Chasez but he's running kinda late so..if you'd like to can go practice in practice room" Becca just nodded, until she got to hisdoor.
"Mr. Pearlman, please call me Becca, Miss Waterson sounds so formal."
"Only on 1 condition, Becca, you call me Lou" She smiled her sweetsmile. Wow , I haven't done that in so long, she thought. Now I wonder what this JC Chasez is like? Any why does that name sound so familiar? Oh well maybe I just know him because he's in N SYNC. Becca sat back and took a deepbreath.
Piano had always helped her feel better. "Hiya Marie" JC said sweetly, "you wouldn't happen to know why Lou called me here today, would you? He wouldn't tell me" He gave her one of his million dollar smiles.
" JC you know I love you, but Lou doesn't tell me anything anymore for fear I would tell you" Marie said catching on to his little act.
JC then heard the most wonderful sound of piano playing. Maria could predict him, "it's coming from practice room A" He had to shake off this weird feeling he had about that playing.
JC was remembering some memories and Marie had to snap him out of it. Marie gave him the go ahead to go back there. On his way over to Lou's office, hetook a peek at practice room A, she had looked so familiar but he couldn't quite put his finger on how he knew her. All he knew is that this girl looked angelic while she was playing, he even recognized the song, Savage Garden's "I Knew I loved You" He stood there staring for a while.
"JC! Just the man I wanted to see!" He said as he motioned for JC to come have a seat. JC came silently. He had to find out who that girl was...Lou suspected something was wrong with JC, he wasn't as hyper as he usually was. Lou just assumed it was Alex, his ex-girlfriend.
JC decided to take a chance, "Who was that girl in A? She was a really good player, I saw her on the way in"
"Well, JC, I'm glad you asked that, do let's get down to business, you probably would like to know why you are here," JC nodded. "Well, you are a pianist and James, our old pianist, quit so we would need a new one" JC saw the whole picture was with that girl.
He motioned again for JC to follow him into the practice room.
"JC Chasez, meet our new piano player, Becca Waterson" Both Becca's and JC's jaws dropped open. It had been so many years before they had seen each other. After JC reached out to shake Becca's hand, she dropped everything. JC bent down to help her pick them up she managed a weak "Thanks"
"I was hoping, JC, that you could teach Becca here, all of your songs." JC nodded still surprised from what had just happened. JC had been Becca's support through all of her tough times, and after JC left she had totally fallen apart. She started dating this guy named Jeff, who seemed very sweet at the time. He had just recently started stalking her after they broke up.
"Now listen Becca being the piano player for N SYNC is a huge responsibility, so we are gonna schedule some Media training" JC shot her a look that said, your gonna need it, trust me. She shot him an angry look. He got this confused look on his face.
"Now listen you two need to spend a lot of time together if Becca is gonna learn all of our songs and some we need to record." Lou said directly at JC. He was still recovering from the angry look Becca gave him.
"I'll leave you two alone, can I see you two in my office around 5:00 P. M. today." With one swift move JC and Becca were alone.
"OK, your the piano genius, so what should we do first?" Becca asked nervously. JC was always very good at reading into everything she said, he knew that she was nervous, but he decided not to say anything about it.
"Hey your the piano major, Becca, not me" JC replied.
"Yeah but I'm learning all of your songs" She retorted. JC couldn't understand what had gotten into her. She was always smiling and almost never made fun or raised her voice. Not to mention the angry look JC had received earlier.
"OK how about we start with God must have spent...it's a slow song so don't worry about the chords and everything.
"And what makes you so sure that I can't play any other songs, huh?" At this point she was almost yelling.
"Hey you asked me, and I told you what would be best." JC said calmly,he didn't like this side of Becca. Something had happened while he was gone, so he just had to figure out what. He had missed her so much.
"OK, I'm sorry Josh, it was wrong to yell at you like that, after all we are going to be spending a lot of time together, so we might as well be friends" JC's mind was going yes! yes! yes! After Becca had learned, God must have spent (a little more time) and For the Girl Who has Everything, they decided to call it a day. Only after Becca had agreed to go to dinner with him.
